How many times do we hear people saying that happiness is a choice? Cliche as it sounds, but that is where happiness comes from. It roots from a single decision to spend one's valuable time choosing to be happy than to waste seconds, minutes, hours, days and years to be sad, and/or angry. We all know that a happy heart brings forth a confident self which in turn results to a happier family where its members thrive in unity and harmony. But sometimes, ...

While I was waiting for my name to be called for the job interview this morning, I saw this 60-ish woman who was speaking to someone over the phone. I could overhear what she was saying to the person on the other line. She was almost crying- you know that type that shows joy instead of sadness? She laughed most of the times, or was it giggle? I often heard her saying,"Sweetheart," thus I am certain that she was speaking with her partner. She ended the call with, "Thank you Sweetheart, I love you. See you later!"

And yes, I was dumfounded. She caught me looking at her. Ashamed, I bowed down, ...

When I first saw Gina's pictures attached to her interview file, I was astounded! I thought I was looking at a TV star: very pretty, with flawless skin, almond eyes and a very charming impression. But Gina is not only pleasing to the sight, she is also a woman of substance. She owns Cake Story (contacts found below), an online bakeshop that does not only produce pleasing-to-the-sight delights but also very gastronomically-satisfying cupcakes, cookies and cakes!

Gina just turned 30 last April 6 but she already achieved a handful. Very impressive at a young age. Her hobbies are not only limited to baking because she also loves to go on a holiday, see movies, go shopping and hang out with her husband and kids.

I am about to give birth in five months, and as soon as I found out that I was pregnant, I pledged to train my child to read. It is not true that children learn to read, eventually. They learn to speak... eventually. But to read? Ask how many children, especially these days, who read.

No, I am not making a future anti-social like what some people I know think. Training my child to read doesn't mean I want him to bury his head in ...

Parents are more likely to talk to their little ones about having good manners and getting good grades than the importance of saving money, according to results of research recently published in Business News Daily. The same study found that parents generally wait until children are 10 or older before talking to them about the importance of saving.

"Based on our findings, parents seem more concerned about the politeness of their children than their financial fitness," said Ernie Almonte, CPA, vice chair ...

But as we become so occupied with all these Christmas delights, we forget that part of all the preparations is to also give ourselves that holiday pamper, ...

Believe it or not, children become more assertive than their parents today. Children suddenly seem to become aware and practice their rights by being so demanding to their parents- that, as if denying them of their wants means denying them of their rights. This situation: When the child shouts at her mom, and makes a horrible scene by putting up tantrums because he doesn't get what he wants is not once in a blue moon. As a matter of fact, this is becoming a trend. Children know how to negotiate with their parents, or worse, manipulate them. So, what do we do if we have to say no to our ...
