For me recently baby has been moving very differently as compared to a few weeks before. ..mayb due to the limbs getting more developed? Some days I get such a funny feeling..like as if he is practicing crawling in my tummy lol..I can practically feel the 'crawling' kinda feeling..
same for my case. can feel my baby turning inside . feels so damn weird
You can feel your baby turning inside? I cant differentiate whats the movement like..only know when its a kick lol
Too bad I didnt manage to see baby moving so vigorously during my scans..would like to know what exactly is he doing...lol
Baby waved and seemed to smile on the ultrasound for me, doc said she's a happy baby hehe.
Actually for me baby seems to move a lot when I first turn on left or right. Seems like she kena crammed into a corner when I turn so she tries to get comfortable too. Haha! But after awhile she will settle down. Heard they move more when you lie on your left also cuz there is increased circulation and blood flow so they are more energetic, that's all.. Not to worry about. Anyway, they turn this and that way, upside down and all over, really dont't think it matters so much to them which way you are lying down.. Just that they also move a bit to adjust to your movement and position.
Hmm I shall check about the receiving blanket. Not keen to make a nice blanket dirty. Haha
i also cannot tell if she is turning or hipcups...how to tell if baby is having hipcups and what is a receiving blanket? There was once during the scan we saw baby was trying bend over to touch her toe. Had also seen her rubbing her eyes before.
My baby loves to start her kicking at around 6am++ everyday and she has become my natural alarm clock .
Hmm online most sites say receiving blankets can be used to wrap baby after bath and all that also. It's just a term for wrapping blanket I think.
Anyone else having Braxton hicks contractions? I get them quite often... A bit uncomfortable.
Yes. I do feel that. In 3rd trimester will feel it more often.
I heard of Braxton hicks contractions, but it's at where? so far I dont't think i had that, or I have that but didn't know. Hahahaha
how does Braxton kicks feel woh?
Me too, actually I've been having Braxton Hicks since around 18 weeks? For me, the lower part of my belly would get really hard and stiff, and now that womb is above the belly button, it's a larger hard surface so I'm less limber. It goes away after a while and belly is soft again. It doesn't hurt, I just need to be more careful when getting up and if I'm really tired after work, I'll sort of hobble back to bed. When my husband helps me rub stretch mark cream at night, it's also very obvious to him when my belly is hard or normal.
I saw my baby hiccuping and moving a lot during the detailed scan, and the past few gynae appointments, he would open and close his mouth - maybe to remind me to have breakfast haha. I can actually see my belly move through my dress at work, so cool and so weird at the same time...
so exciting! i also have braxton hicks... but im not too sure if im just bloated or having bad cramps sometimes.
hiccups are like regular hard kicks that goes in rhythmic consistent for about 3 to 10 sec sometimes.
i get it almost everyday for hiccups.
i also felt my baby moving across my tummy with some jabs, kicks and just simply turning around.
i think receiving blanket is used after they wash the baby and place them in the nursery.
i will call the hospital to ask. i read Mt A thread that they will provide but unsure how updated the info is.
Just came from baby fair... Didn't really buy much. Small fair.
Braxton Hicks is like you can feel the womb contract and press around the baby... It's not painful just uncomfortable... It's supposed to be practice labour for the womb. Not everyone will have it...
Last night baby really kicked like crazy until I found it hard to sleep ): wriggling and moving around like dancing at a disco... Why baby why! Let mommy sleep pls... Since I won't get any sleep when you are born!
Ooh did you see any of the wooden cribs like your cheery baby one? Actually, any wooden cribs with wheels? My weekend is quite packed and it would be nice to know if I should make the trip (though it's not really much of a journey since I live nearby hurhur).
Yup they have wooden crib with wheels! Saw a white slatted one with wheels.
Their carter baby rompers got good deal - 5 for $13 only. Sleep suits for $8, towels for $10-12, swaddle suits for $10. Assorted mittens and socks for $2-5. They have like 20 different Graco playpen designs also at the fair.
Robinsons expo is next door and you can get nice plain crib sheets, they have terry toweling sheets and textured sheets if you prefer. I bought a few baby books from the Robinson fair too

Awesome, thanks for the info. Finally getting started on buying baby stuff.
I experienced tightness of the belly sometimes..and after that it goes away...no pain..is tis braxton hicks?? I thought it is due to air inside or something..
Ellie I think it might be Braxton hicks then (: it doesn't hurt! Unlike real contractions, which come in increasingly closer intervals and will hurt more like menstrual cramps apparently.
Layla, the baby stuff in my room is now a small mountain! I really need to get started clearing and preparing the baby room, but because my husband is using that room as a home office now, he's quite reluctant to move out ): hope to get it done this December while I'm on leave, since I dont't think my belly size/energy level/work commitments from Jan onward are gonna be very conducive for this...
second time mummies, do babies get very hot in Singapore weather? I've been very reluctant to buy blankets cuz I feel like it's very hot. Only bought two very thin translucent muslin type blankets from aden+anais cuz they were on sale. Should I be buying warmer blankets? I dont't even dare to buy microfleece night wear. Won't baby sweat and overheat?
hi all, im new here. my edd is 18 march.
anyone knows when is the taka baby fair coming? will it be in time for us with edd march 2014?
i havent got many things yet, and the baby fair at expo is quite small nothing much... their steriliser is all out of stock.
btw is 99$ a good deal for an avent 3in1 steriliser without bundle?
thanks in advance
Not sure about the avent 3-1 sterilizer.. I got my Medela bundled together with breast pump for $50. But usual price is $200 I think so $99 sounds like a good deal.
Welcome to our forum!!
I think baby more afraid of cold then hot. I ask my friends this question too, when asking about the receiving blanket. won't the baby be hot if he's wearing clothes and I still wrap him in a blanket?! All of them say, it is a must to wrap them (giving baby a sense of security) and keep them from wind. Cos baby had been inside you, protected so they like that sort of feeling.
My friend also said cover too much layer might subject baby to have fever so better react to what bbs wants n act accordingly
