Tannie, why do you have to start all over again for childcare?

Tannie, why do you have to start all over again for childcare?
Not really cause my gal onky attend 2 hours daily at current childcare. The teachers dont seems to engage with her, one of the teacher is fully occupied by one of the gal whom will not leave one step away and got jealous if the teacher attend to my gal. End up my mum is in the childcare taking care of my gal... there seems no lesson, no activities. .. n I still paying $550 per month... if this goes on... she will never adapt without my mum...
Damm sad, can't fit in alot of clothes now... even those I wore during pregnancy last time... I got to put on extra bra extender. .. 2 extender already... dont know if I shld get some maternity wear now... just another 3 months...
Tannie, why is the childcare so weird? They allow the kid to cling onto the teacher like that? You're right. If this goes on, you girl will never adapt without your mom. Did you ask the teacher/principal about this current arrangement? But it's impossible that they do not have activities in school. Maybe can ask the teacher/principal what's going on. If not, like you said... really have to change school.
shiny81, thanks for sharing. I dont know much about Thomson Medical. But does your gynae perform deliveries in Mount E Novena since it's a new hospital? You may want to check with your gynae, as I know certain gynaes only perform at certain hospitals.
For Mount E, you'll have to pay for the lodger's meal. Mount E Orchard just renovated their wards in 2011/2012 i think. When I delivered there, the wards were already newly renovated. So it's like everything is new. Feels good! Mount E orchard only has 2 room wards that are 2-bedder, and I would reckon it's tough to book those 2-bedder wards as most mummies would book them beforehand. So only left with 1-bedder. The suite is super expensive! You can see it when you go for the tour. One of my gfs stayed in the royal suite when she delivered. So lavish!!! I felt it's so overpriced! LOL!
Morning shiny81! Great choice! If you can afford to stay in a 1-bedder, do so for an experience. Now the price has increased tremendously! Last time, normal delivery with epidural was only $1k+ cheaper than now. I only know the hospital increased the charges by $1k plus.

Went for my 28 weeks checkup today and the little one is 1.27kg... doctor says it is an average size baby... the growth rate is almost the same as my no.1... I am now starting to look forward to the day he arrives... now is the start of my sleepless night... so difficult sleeping with my no.1 moving beside me while she is sleeping and no.2 busy kicking n turning inside...
I went to taka baby fair today.. same layout as every year.. range of items at 15-20% discount.. bought huggies newborn diapers .. some wet wipes and stuff for my no.1.. you can check out the strollers.. Best to go at off peak.. was there between 4-6pm.. not many people..
Charchia, tell me about it.. i also got one kicking n moving outside .. and a super active one kicking alot inside! Feeling very uncomfy , cannot find any good position to sleep.. also, i wake up afew times to pee.. fumble like a hippo to the toilet .. zzz
Hmm i have not't decided where to deliver.. shall ask my gynae at next visit.. i think she can deliver at gleneagles and mt A.. but like previous time, the nurses told me gleneagles more convenient as her clinic is there, she can come down and attend to me any time.. but for mt A, parking is hard and she has to take time to travel over... but now that i've shifted to AMK, mt A is so much nearer to me.. so i'm still considering.. any idea whether the construction works at mt A has sort of completed?
meltie, my husband n I both dont like to go orchard ... I also whole night toss and turn n going toilet to pee... lol...
Me too.. im now trying to train my girl to sleep on her own, i.e. sleep on the mattress on the floor next to my bed.. but she will wake up in e middle of the night, see that im not beside her and start crying.. then see me on e bed jiu climb up and squeeze beside me.. never fails each night.. and ya wen she's sleeping beside, she will b tossing and turning and pushing me to the edge of e bed.. sighz.. on top of that also gotta wake up to pee.. amd recently haunted by leg cramps too.. sad..
Do you mummies find it hard to get up these days? As in if you're sitting on e floor and you need to get up? I feel like a super old lady .. I couldnt stand up just like that.. the pelvic area hurts like mad and it's as though baby gonna drop out.. so I had to lean forward and get on my knees, then sit on my heels, then push myself up against the floor or my thighs or grabbing on to furniture for support.. And once I stood up, I start to waddle.. argh.. I try to avoid sitting on e floor these days.. but my girl likes me to play with her on the floor.. sobz..
Yes! I Had difficulties getting up from floor n sometimes will leak... sigh... Also difficult to get up from bed, ESP my daughter is sleeping beside n I have little space to move to get up...
I'm sooooooo sleepy now... Zzzz monster has been visiting me non stop. I also have difficulties sleeping now. And almost the same scenario as what you all has described with my #1... Cannot sleep well.
I went to the taka fair earlier too, bought mittens/medela storage bottles/etc etc... Not too bad cos the crowd was just nice. Tomorrow I will go there again. Need to see how many bottles I have and I need to get the teats for #2. I cannot remember when I introduced bottle to my #1. Can you all remember when you introduced bottles to your #1?
Oh I introduced bottle the first day she came back from hospital.. haha.. cos my milk supply came in terribly late like 7th day after delivery? So my girl was on fm the first week.. Then after that my mum kept asking me to pump out for night feeds so I can rest and CL can do her job.. So I alternated between latching and bottle feeding (by CL) during confinement and after.. My girl got nipple confusion and refused to latch around 3wks old and it was a nightmare.. after much perseverance, we succeeded once again..
For #2 I have not decided if I want to latch full time or half half again.. Cos they say latch more supply more ..
I intro bottle at beginning of 4th month... thn slowly switch to FM but who knows she is allergy to cows milk so I latch on again... after that she refuse bottle. As I am back to work, no choice but to let her starve till she accept bottle n soy milk.
Tannie, you let her starve as in didn't give her milk cos she refused bottle? To recall now, I think I introduced bottle when she's 3-4 months old. Ok, later I go back and check the used teats. See if there're any teats for 0+ month. Pregnancy really made me blur and forgetful... I cant wait for #2 to come out soon...
Do you all get questions of "so are you planning for #3?" I have been getting this question quite often in my office or when I meet friends. I'm like... hello, my #2 not even out yet... ... Hahahahahaha!
Mummies with #1, what are the things that you dread the most after baby is born? I dread the part of worrying (that's for sure), I dread giving solids too... cos got so many things to prepare when they start solids. And I dread them crawling cos that's also the part that they'll fall off the bed. My #1 fell off the bed 5 times! I'm so careless!!! Luckily nothing serious happened!
I latch my no.1 after birth coz my supply was low... tried latching her on but she refuse plus she had reflux so in the end we stop and went full fm... hopefully no. 2 will latch on...
I dont get question like when you planning to have no.3... my most common question is how many children you plan to have... keep asking me to have more than my parents and in-laws (by the way they each have 5 children)... n I m like no money, you sponsor the child development and education fund then we dont mind raising more... lol...
I dont dread anything except when they start rolling n fall off the bed... my no.1 fell off the bed twice...
Yap, i let my gal go hungry n eventually she has no choice but to accept bottle n soy milk.
Wah you all really got mood n time to write . Been bz (still) researching on the childcare to send.. anw kinda decided alrdy. ha.. cannot imagine now preschool i alrdy so kancheong.. primary sch shld b sweating .. sigh I scald myself lately. While making milk. was handling baby alone outside-one hand pour milk one hand makibg sure baby doesnt fall off the sofa.. Quite bad. Burnt on the leg until flesh exposť. *weep* got infected but cos preggy doc hesitated to give me antibiotics. Gotta monitor if the condition worsen or not in the next few days. Super sad when doc says the scar will b there forever. Booo cannot wear shorts . Got this scar to remind me of him for life. Hehe..
Do you all experience Braxton hick often? It's getting so frequent it's quite uncomfortable for me. I didn't experience (or mayb I didn't feel it or didnt know it when I had my #1) I m now in my week 28 only next Monday visiting gynae. Really hope baby is growing well cos the last visit gynae say baby tummy small n I need to eat more n rest more.
Gonna sign up Cordlife next month cos they hving the promo ($100 voucher) I was waiting for haha.. Did it for #1, so will do it for #2. It's just "insurance" for both of them bah. Wanted to go taka fair but I know the crowd will b crazy.. So may see how bah.
