I had my gynae appt on 16 Nov, gynae discovered my amniotic fluid was too low, scheduled me to admit on same day's evening for induction. My stubborn cervix didn't dilate at all (not even 0.5cm, remained tightly closed all the time) even with the second insertion of prostin, then my contraction had been 1 to 2 mins apart so gynae decided to abort the 3rd prostin insertion cos the regular contraction would put stress on baby & she think the 3rd prostin wouldn't have effect to dilate my cervix cos not all people respond well to the medicine. She said next time i can totally give up the idea of induction for my next baby...So i had double pain from the contraction pain from the induction process & the csection pain....and a long labour process, but all is worth it to see baby is healthy!
i am sure your induction will be successful since you have already dilated 2.5cm (i wasn't dilate at all before went for induction). Wish you have a fast & smooth delivery!! Do share with us your birth story ya...Good luck!

Cony, you still have another 2-weeks to go right, so take good rest and enjoy....Wish you have a FAST & SMOOTH labour!! dont't be scared by my experience, you will have better luck
As baby still have not't discharge due to jaundice level high, i take my chance to recuperate & rest well, so that i can attend to him when he is back home (hopefully he can discharge tomorrow). Miss him so much!!
Today JJ chee got me discharged but baby still in hospital, need to undergo phototherapy cos jaundice level is 216. Your little girl discharge together with you right?

Thanks Oh ya, you didn't mention i totally forgot. But the order totally opposite, my edd was supposed to be after yours -winks-
Yea my girl discharged with me, but she is also having some slight alleviated jaundice level. She has been going back to the polyclinic for daily jaundice level checks (My heart hurts when they prick her but the funny thing was that she didnt cry or flinch - The girl's braver than mummy)
Catch up on your rest before he discharges so that you have ample of energy to keep up with him. I had a 1st tough night So commenced BF already?
Just called KK, baby's jaundice level dropped to 192, they only allowed him to discharge when his level drop below 190, so tomorrow should be able to bring him home. Yup these few days have managed to rest well...but missed baby terribly...
I have been going to KK daily to let baby suckle, so far i've only expressed out 10ml colostrum, dont't have any milk yet...feel my breast a bit engorged & painful...Has your breastmilk come already? BF so far so good?
10ML of colostrum is already not bad! Keep up the good work
You can consider to use a hot pack or cabbage leaves to help ease the engorgement & pain you are feeling. Yea, my breastmilk has started flowing in on day 3 and she has been suckling regularly. In between feeds when i sometimes feel engorged or discomfort, i will express out to keep for later use. Your flow will kick in when you have the baby home with you cuz that's when he suckle regularly and simulate you
Do you mind to share what brand of breast pump you used? I got a pass-down medela mini electric from relative. The pump is quite noisy and the suction power seemed slow, hmm, hope to bf for at least 6 mths so thinking to invest a better pump cos need to pump in office too. Do you have any recommendation?
I am currently using a Philips Avent Manual Pump, and other than it is manual, it is working perfectly fine for my needs.
But i have a Medela PIS which is a loaned pump from my friend. Have not personally used it yet, but the feedback from friends using this and forums have been good
You are right to say there's ALOT to learn. Funny thing is i feel that i learn the most from her, and she's only a baby.
Use what breast pump you have for now until you decide on how long you want to feed and how's your supply before committing to buying a new pump
went for my 36th week check up.. gynea quite sure of my baby ger arriving anytime next week.... start dilating already but still need to wait... suddenly it sound so unreal that she is popping by so soon....
