Regarding the milk bottles. I am using AVENT. 3 years back when I was using AVENT bottles, they were good but now when I am using them for my 2nd child, it seems to leak...I really wonder why.
Seems like many recommend NUK, I am tempted to buy and other good reviews of milk bottles?
I'm using pigeon. So far so good, no leakage prob.
I brought my girl to my mum's place alone. Super pai seh, she cried in e bus. Afterall not too bad, been to vivo, northpoint, jurong point and plaza sing. Usually is go out alone to meet friends outside.
Think sling is better than pram, always pushing empty pram around.
I'm using NUK wide neck & normal bottles, so far no leaking problem..
Anyone has started night train your baby? My girl is still waking up every 2-3 hourly.. How about you mummies?
Today drove with baby in the car seat, alone with her for the first time. At first was worried that she would fuss, but thankfully she fell asleep and slept all the way for the 30 minute journey! It's frustrating that we can't put the infant car seat in front; I can't see her from my driver's seat at all, even if I place her seat behind the passenger's seat. When she sleeps and not making any sound, dont know whether to feel safe or not!
MummyK: not really night training but just trying to stretch her last feed as late as possible - if she takes her bottle after 10.30pm, she will normally be able to sleep til around 6am. If she takes it earlier than 10pm, she will wake around 4plus. But then my girl is on alternate formula and ebm so the routine may be different if you're on total breastfeeding. How about the other mummies' experiences?
have not't come in for awhile n wa~so many pages to catch up...
Just went to pedi n doc says he hears murmurs in baby's heart. Causes could be due to blood vessels flowing through heart, or could be holes in valves or heart. Arranged for us to bring to KK for scan with heart specialist...so worried...sobz* hope everything will be fine with baby.
Just only laid down my worries for a failed hearing test taken at birth, she has now passed the test at 3rd testing, n now this problem surfaces. Being a parent is really tough
Planning to put baby in infant care from second month onwards but now wondering if I should postpone awhile later as she may be too vulnerable at this stage for any viruses circulating around. What do you mummies think? Should I postpone or not? Any mummies putting baby in infant care too?
I'm using Avent n so far did not face any leaking problems at all. Heard recent batches have solved leaking problems...old batches did indeed have this problem.
Are all mummies still on teat stage 1 for newborn? When to change to teat stage 2?
So far, my baby can't sleep all the way to 6 plus even when last feed is after 10.30pm. She will wake up at least once in the middle of the nite for her feed. Lucky you nightingale that your baby can sleep through the night.
If worried about the increased exposure to viruses at infant care, another option you may want to consider is to leave her with a nanny instead? I'll be doing that when I return to work in January, we're paying $600 a month for a nanny who will be looking after just my girl alone. The plan is to transfer her to childcare when she turns 18 months. Even thinking about it now, I'm feeling a surge of separation anxiety... haha! dont't know if I will bear to part with her or not when the time comes!
My girl will wake up twice in the night. I think she's drinking a bit too little at 8 weeks. 100mls EBM during day FM for night which she always did not finish.
Planning to put her to infant care once I return work also. But the fees are not very cheap either. Still considering.
But then again every baby is unique i guess...
Nightingale!!! Cheyanne slps from 1030 to 6??? Wow! Im amazed! what is your before bedtime routine like? what do you feed her with on her last feed? Ebm? breast milk? Fm?
Btw, she slps thru the night you too??? you dont need to wake up n pump?
Smtimes 3 hours after feed i start leaking milk... Like automatic.. Hahaha...
So you will be putting Cheyenne to a nanny...you mean you be bringing her back only over the weekends? Wa I think will be hard to separate with our lil one as they really light up our life now...probably will have sleepless nights initially keke...
I thought of a nanny too but it's so difficult to find a good one that can b trusted n without looking after other children as well...found no one then who could recommend round my area that's why decided to go to infant care. Did someone recommend this nanny to you? How did you justify that she's good...you went over to her house before deciding on her?? Today my colleague just spoke about a potential nanny to me...but am not sure how to ascertain if she's good or not. Heard it will cost $700 plus so what you are paying is really worth it ;-)
According to my pediatrician, infant at 6weeks old can already skip night feeding. So I tried training her for the past 2 days and it works!
I'll feed her one last time before I go to bed (regardless of the interval from previous feed was 1hr or 2 or even slightly lesser than that), then in the middle of the night she wakes up, I will give her pacifier and she actually falls back to sleep pretty soon (which means she is still not that hungry and can go without feeding). Will wait until she cries even with pacifier (guess that is when she is really hungry).
1st day, last feed at 2.30am and next was 7.30am.
2nd day, last feed at 1am and next at 8am.
My girl is on ebm and formula as well. She used to wake up every 2-3 hourly.

in between, he woke at 4am ,i think i was too tired n gave him pacifier to try n he took it n slept till 8. hehee i think it wrks.
I think 100ml for your baby should be ok. My little Josh, bout 8 wks too, takes max of 150ml(its water 150ml ~excludes powder ). My pediatrician was shocked by the amount n mentioned im feeding too much n his weight gain is too fast for his age. but he was only 2.95kg at birth ..now he is about 5.2-5.3kg i think. To me its ok ..hehee..
Anyway she advised feeding just 90ml first. If baby hungry then feed more. So dont worry bout your baby's milk intake. aS long as he's fine should be ok . Sometimes my baby only takes 50-60ml but his appetite picks up later.
My baby doesnt sleep in the daytime unless i carry him. Its really tiring n i cant do anythg at all. Any mummies having this prob too?? Last time, everytime he finished his milk he will knock out! But now, the moment i put him now(thinking he's in deep sleep already), he will fuss n cry . The moment i carry him he stops n sleep.
I think yours is ok.. My girl is 7weeks and feeding 90ml, I tried increasing to 110ml but she always cant finish so I drop back to 90ml and give her small amount of water in between.
For mummies with colicky baby. Just want to share is Anmum I took cos wind in my dear daughter. I stop drinking Anmum for a week and I notice the wind in my baby tummy reduce too.
