Pls share, does you give your newborn baby's head sleep on the pillow or just a folder cloth during confinement/ 1st month period? Becos I heard some ppl encourage not to give them sleep with pillow during the 1st 2 mths or maybe afraid their head will out of shape?? Advise?
it depends on your beliefs, for me my son never used any pillow. He's 7 months now n started sleeping on tummy since 2nd month. relatives commented his head looks nice n round. So i guess not sleeping on pillow helps.
i also put cloth nappy.... pillow can be dangerous too... if baby happen to move the pillow onto his face....
i put dear son on folded nappy cloth
can i check is it that one nappy cloth is enough?
i use the dipped pillow.. but 1st 2 weeks i usually will use cloth diapers 1st...
hello nsync su,
i'm a new mommy here, still learnin new tings. so you mean by lying flat on their tummies, baby normally dont get shocked easily 1 ? but 4 my boy rite, when i put him on his tummy, he dont seem to like it n keep on pushin his head up. do you hav any idea y is that so?
It is best not to let baby sleep on pillow or on their stomach to prevent SIDS. Safety first. These are fine when the baby can roll over back to front & front to back easily.
A folded cloth nappy does a good job, and is easy to change frequently when baby regurgitates milk. Swaddling is a good way to let baby sleep securely, as some babies like my boy have 'flying arms' up till 6 months old. I think its ok for babies not to have pillow.
Only adults want pillow and we think that the babies without pillow will be uncomfortable. But no they dont't even know there is such a thing..But once you give it to them, they will start having a habit of needing it which could be troublesome when you travel.Or got out.
Without pillow baby can sleep everywhere anywhere if not have to bring the pillow along..Yes put baby on their tummies they will not get shocked so easily or can put the pillow filled with beans on his tummy while he sleeps on back.
Mayb he is not used to it yet but i m sure if you want him to sleep that way and you always put him that way when its time for bed, he will get used to it.
i also let my baby sleep on cloth nappy in his first month. but as he has blocked nose, i started letting him sleep on bean pillow which will sink a little in the middle. i rarely put him on his tummy as my baby will turn his head even when he's in his first month sleeping on his tummy. afraid that he will suffocate in his sleep.
Mine slept on those yellow-backed disposable sheets used in hospital. Can get from Guardian Pharmacy
My baby sleeps on beansprout husk pillow, a very small one though, just big enough for his head.
