They say that traditional chinese medicine is often more contradictory than complimentary to western medicine but i dont't think traditional chinese medicine practitioners prescribe you unsafe herbal medications during your pregnancy. Were you seeking traditional chinese medicine to get pregnant or for another medical condition?
I'm not an expert but i think you should see a gynae because the hospital will have the technology and expertise to do scans and evaluations on your pre-natal health e.g. see where the embryo has implanted, blood tests, position and health of fetus later. western medicine not better or worse .. but i think better to have peace of mind right? Most gynaes in Thomson Medical Center are pretty good and a bulk of the hospital specialises in maternity care, i think there's a thread somewhere on recommendations.
