I'm currently seeing Dr Ang of Thomson Medical Center.. He did a checkup for me and told me that my baby is somehow big.. 3.4kg... He mentioned about surgery.. I'm so worried.... Any advices...
Actually, if can, maybe you choose c-section since your doc advise you that.. For me, i have c-section coz baby head did not engaged..
If your baby is big, better have c-section.. if you choose normal delivery then if cannot then you still have to go through c-section.. then you will have double pain..
C-section is ok .. Im sure you can tahan the pain after that..
i might be going through c sect too. mm.. still trying and hoping baby will come out by himself over the weekend.. if not.. tuesday morning will carry him out . haha!
i believe most of us hope for natural.. well, at least for me.. and kinda disappointed when my gynae told me i cant cos pelvic small and baby has big head.. but i guess most importantly.. we are want to have a healthy baby and smooth delivery!! so... no worries ya?
dont worry, my son was delivered by c section after being induced 3 times.. He
Its good that your gynae prepped you about surgery..solong as both of you r safe...i wanted to experience labour contractions.. Tats y optedto be induced for the third time while my gynae booked op theatre before inducing me for the third time.when my cervix still did not even dilate at 1cm.. I was wheeled to do c section, which is cheaper than emergency c section...
my c-section cannot come down the bed for 2 days.. 3rd day then can come down and when 1st time getting off the bed is really very pain at the wound there..coz you never move for 2 days mah.. but ok .. you can take painkillers..
ya.. will lower the pain but it all depends on individual body.. some of my friend even having the jab olso will quite pain..
i just gave birth on 16th sep to a healthy baby girl of 3.86kg. i'm also petite and i was having a big baby. doc suggested me to go thomson 4th level for a more accurate wt measurement of the baby and she was 3.6kg at around 37wks! her head circumference was also slightly bigger. doc was also prepared me that i may have to go for c-sec but he also noes that i really wanted a natural delivery. my edd was 15th but i still had no labour pains. thus, he induced me twice and in the end i had natural delivery with the help of vacuum and also epidural. i really did not want to go through the pain of c-sec as i heard that healing process takes longer.
so dont worry, your doc will advise you according to the situation...
dont worry..you can refer to my thread``big baby'' i think its page 2/3 of third trimester here...
i gave birth twice thru induction, managed to give births naturally....i m 1.58 m tall...considered petite size...i put on approx 10 kg in total for both times... (got no cravings and ate only 3 meals a day)
my 1st baby: gal--> birth at 39 weeks @ 3.605 kg:
she was growing super fast in my tummy and i had to ex weight control...
i did not take any milk/ durian.....but my baby keep gaining weight...she was already 3.3 kg at 8 months!....so i prayed and tried avoid fatty foods...lucky her growth slowed down subsequently....eventually i was dilated @ 4 cm during gynae visit and had induced labour. Birth process took 5 hours...
my 2nd baby: boy boy--> birth at 37 weeks @ 3.63 kg:
baby was already 2.6 kg@ 7 months ...gynae advised me to test for diabetics ...but lucky it was negative!....was so scared that i cant give birth naturally....! soon i was finally 37 weeks and 2 cm dilated--> gynae advised me to go for induction ....birth process took less than 3 hours..
so no worries..stay positive: I didnt even think i can manage to squeeze out both babies naturally... i only reassured myself that C-section is the last solution...i also heard a lady at mount alvernia where I gave birth delivered a 5 kg baby thru c-section....2 days before me.
I just gave birth 2 months ago...on 21st aug...now my weight back to pre pregnant times already
I also had a big baby. My baby was 3.6kg, 36cm in head diameter. Had a long delivery too. 17hrs. In the end the baby was delivered with the help for of forceps.
So I guess after hearing so many encouraging words from other mummies. You should not be worried. Just let nature take its course. Well like what some mums here say, worse case is only to go for C-section.
wahh you r strong felicissimo mummy!.. natural delivery!
my ger 3.6kg too and dr ang induced me once. after 14 hours he check i am only 2cm dilated. so he ask if i want 2nd induce or c-sect. i told him c-sect. next day he came n say lucky i choose c-sect cos baby might not cum out even with 2nd induce.
still all depends on you.. if you want more kids then natural. c-sect 3 kids max.
hope you have a smooth delivery Ariel mummy.
