My hubby is from the UK but I'm also from there too. My mum is Singaporean so this is like my second home We moved here cos he got a job out here.
My family really like him, sometimes he clashes with my mum but she can be a bit pushy anyways, still thinks she can have a say in my life and he doesn't like that, thinks I should be more independent! He cooks and cleans (which I think is good...def knows how to be a family guy and it means he doesn't think that's just the woman's job!) and he's great with our kids. Of course, he has his down sides. He has a temper too and we have rows like any other couple but he's a great friend and very. supportive of my career. Love him sooo much
The only problem we get in Singapore is that ppl will stare at us when we are out. Think there is a stigma attached to mixed marriages still but it's always the older aunties and uncles who'll stare and point fingers. I just stare back!
Think that it's important when you're married to someone not of your culture/background to just ignore all the comments of other ppl and remember why you are a good couple. Ger-mummy, your hubby sounds great - remember he married you, not your friends and getting to know them and Singapore will take a while, just be patient Good luck with your pregnancy though, sounds like your hubby is really taking care of you!!!
