This is a discussion on Childhood Memories within the Mummy Cafe forum, part of the Community Lounge category; Those SBS buses with huge gigantic gear on the floor kind lols~~ OMG i miss those...
My childhood memories is at my grandma's place, climb up the mango tree to pluck mangoes to eat. & go to 2nd floor of my grandma's place with loads of stones to hit birds who eat the papayas on our papaya tree. & watching my uncles get soursop from my grandma's tree in the backyard. Playing nintendo & bullying one of my autistic cousin (well, at that time we did not know he was autistic).
Best memory is all my cousins (around 20+ of us), standing at the dining table, with a huge pot of scalded clams (sea hum) & racing to see who can accumulate the most shells (by eating the clams of cos). Then all of us will be BLOATED & my grandma will spank us when we dont finish our dinner.
Empty vessels make the most noise
last time we go river side to catch those baby crabs and bring home to play, and played with spiders and ants lols~~~~no toys
oops~ dont have any in my childhood.
maybe 5 stones bahh~
my toys were more on barbie dolls n soft toys.
Oh my, I must be getting old. I can remember all those pictures that you post!!! All my fave games! The hand held games were the ones my bro was playing with.
And the old SBS bus... Hahaha... I was so short in Pri School I was always so stressed to take the bus coz I'd be too shy to ask someone to press the bell for me... And all the bells were on the bus ceiling!!!!
Actually I miss being able to buy my noodle soup at my Pri school canteen for $0.50 and biscuits for $0.10. Best man... And a cup of soda drink for $0.20.
And remember the ice sticks??? Many colours.. Me and my cousins would always buy those and do karate chop. Haha!!
And the snack called Ka Ka??? There's a toy inside.
Not to mention all the childhood cartoons that I watched...
Smurfs... Carebears... My little pony... Gummy bears...
My brother would watch He-Man, Transformers...
ya all the bells are in a rubber line dee....cannot press if you too short (same problem)
ya ya last time i only bring 50cents to school, buy this and that stil got 10 cents left
PAPER DOLLS? you remember?
ya the ka ka snack....i REMEMBER!!!
Wahahaha!! Really nostalgia ya??
LOL!! I born near the 1970s... Wahahaha... But very early 80s lahh... Still got all these things but all these things started to phase out when I went to upper Primary... Very sad...
By the time I was in P3 or 4, Barbie dolls already were all set to rule the world! sigh... But yar I remember those paper dolls... The doll and the clothes all on one sheet.. Then you must peel out and "hang" the clothes on the paper doll with those tabs at the side of the clothings!! Hahahaha.
Ya!! Ultraman.. Always he like gonna die gonna die then suddenly he will have strength again.. LOL!! Very funny!!
Xiao Tian Tian I also follow... Every Sunday morning if I remember correctly :P
Lemme see, what else....
Catch spiders put in matchbox.
Eraser competition (see whose eraser can on the top of the other)
Tikam-tikam game (buy sweets or chewing gum...check our luck inside those wrappers)
Curry puff boy or Goreng Pisang boy shouting out aloud along HDB corridors to sell.
Rojak Man on bicycle sounding his horn at the foot of the block.

Last time also, we got to place order to milk. Could choose, strawberry or choc ones too before stock came.
