I dont think Labour Day is a good idea ... it being a public holiday, we not only have to fight the usual weekend crowd ... it is also likely for the charitable organisations to do visits for their respective under-privileged charges.Originally Posted by CanCanMum

My maid is still around, of course ... but in her own room.Originally Posted by lisa_ng

So, my Seamus has no problems finding his way into the maid's room ... should he wake up when we're not around, albeit with a crying face.
Anyways, our exploits of this kind so far has only been to Geylang for beef fun or frog porridge ... yes, both my wife & I are not into fishing or prawning.
Most definitely ... I only end up seeing an exercise park along that whole stretch of Pasir Ris Park.Originally Posted by lisa_ng

Just like Autumn, we started off with a 3-phase convertible cot ... but for the convenience of my wife's BF requirements, Seamus slept with us on our queen-sized bed until he sqitched to FM at 6 months old.Originally Posted by lisa_ng
Thereafter, we try to let him sleep in the cot as much as he allow us to ... as in he'd be pat to sleep on our bed, before being shifted over to the cot when we can confirmed that he is deep asleep.
Siggi was born when Seamus was 19 months old ... now that Siggi was taking up the space on our bed (which was previously occupied by Seamus), I removed one side of the railings to make it into a junior bed. Yes, I did not replace that empty side with any safe-guard railings ...
Surprisingly, Seamus was quite happy with the arrangement ... presumably becoz he realised he'd end up with more space to himself this way.
For the first week, I placed a sea-horse mattress right next to the junior bed, for fear of him rolling onto the floor. Indeed, I woke up on 2 occasions to see him sleeping on the sea-horse mattress ... but never on the floor, fortunately.
In fact, after that week, I have never see him ended up sleeping on the sea-horse mattress already ...
After I was convinced that he could handle sleeping on his own in a junior bed, we bought one from Ikea that could be extended into 3 different lengths ... depending on how tall your child has become. Another reason for doing this was becoz my in-laws wanted a cot for Siggi at their place ... becoz my Siggi started to roll here roll there when he was slightly over 3 months old.
That place is run by a woman, whose hubby is an ex-colleague of mine ... similarly retired like me.Originally Posted by princessminn
Before he retired for good, he gave out namecards to us all ... inviting us to support the restaurant & reassuring us VIP treatment with discounts, if we quote his name to his wife.
But when my wife & I went to support ... my wife just didn't bother with honouring what her husband said & I'm sure she knew who I was, coz we even chatted about how long ago it was since I last met her.
Personally, I was not too impressed with the food the served up ... although I'm a very pro-seafood person.
Biggest lesson learnt ... women will always be women, most just dont have the long-term vision to run a good business. Sure, she avoided losing 10% to me ... but she also lost my business forever, plus whoever else's who bothered to listen to me.
If you have been walking/exercising throughout the pregnancy, then everything's fine.Originally Posted by princessminn
It's the sudden surge in walking/exercising that you should be more concerned with ... especially in the 3rd trimester.
If this surge comes too early, it could trigger off a pre-term labour ... which is surely not what you want, since the baby would not have been fully developed yet.
Another thing, if you wish to walk ... try to do it inside the swimming pool, less damage to your knees ... considering the extra weight you now have on your abdomen & back.
HELLO!! ooooooooolala... only went out causeway point .. come back the thread so ZOOM

Actually, you girls place too much faith on EDD ...Originally Posted by lisa_ng
First of all, EDD is predicted/calculated ... based on the beginning of your last menstrual cycle, with the assumption that your menstrual cycle is regular.
However, most of the modern women today have rather irregular menstrual cycles ... so the basis & the assumption is already not accurate to start with.
Calculation of EDD can be most accurate IF you can tell when you actually conceived ... but if you are TTCing like 2 rabbits, who can really tell which one of the 100 times of sex led to the actual conception?
In conclusion, what I am trying to say is ... anything to do with baby's arrival & EDD is mostly nothing but old wives' tales, since the prediction/calculation of EDD is done mostly just to provide a reference for the gynae.
For the record, my wife has very regular menstrual cycles ... plus when we were TTCing, we dont just bonk each & everyday. She would identify & tell me which 2 days was "mating season" ... so, when she was detected pregnant, we could actually tell the gynae which 2 days we tink the babies were conceived.
As a result, both my boys' EDD was calculated by the gynae to be 1 Apr 07 & 1 Nov 08 respectively ... which ended up as their respective birthdays too, even though they were both born naturally without any assisted induction.
Not "going" ... more like "last gone" some 10 years ago.Originally Posted by oblong

This is the junior bed I was talking about ... the one which we bought for Seamus. But I certainly dont remember paying only $99 for it ... mattress included, I think it all came to about $300plus.Originally Posted by lisa_ng
But personally, I think it's a good buy ...
Design-wise, I think it's very practical ... as we are now able to place it in our master-bedroom, with both ends set up vertically ... plus we should be able to set both ends horizontally & have the bed in full extension, to be placed in the boys' room when they are older.
Workmanship-wise, I think it's quite acceptable too ... though still fabricated with compressed wood, I feel the finishing was of quite high standards.
