This is a discussion on Baby stroller within the Year 2012 Mummy forum, part of the Mummy Meeting Place category; Hi mummies, any rec. for baby stroller?...
any rec. for baby stroller?
What about Combi & Capella?
I think it depends on what you are comfortable with. I got a Capella cos i found it lighter and easy to lift in and out of the car boot and it allows me to choose which was my baby faces as in the handle is reversible.
Its up to the individual I guess, some people find the Maclaren mechanism easy to close up
Quinny is better
It depends on your needs. And factors to consider:
By right, the heavier it is the better, because more stable and prevent the baby from toppling ,especially since we tend to hand our bags n shopping plastic bags at the handle. Diaper bag can be quite heavy! A good weight will be at least 6 kg but they also tend to be more expensive. Mc and peg perego are good ones at about 8 kg but they are also expensive.
2)your ability to handle weight.
I was almost sure I want a peg perego, till I went to test it out at spring maternity. The one at vivo is very good, allowed us to try and did not give us pressure. It was heavy indeed , too heavy for me n not easy for husband to fold and unfold! Remember that strollers are not just for pushing, but you need to carry, fold and unfold too...I eventually bought a lighter one at about 6kg, and even with just 6 kg, if you went through csect like I do, we are not supposed to carry 6 kg till about 4 months later! So make sure you
have someone who is with you to fold and unfold if you want heavy strollers.
3)do you use public or pte transport.
Light and easy to fold for public. And check if stroller can fit in your car if you have car.
4) ease of folding and opening.
I only tried peg, mc, and combi. I like combi best in terms of easy folding. One hand. Cos I assume I have to carry baby in the other hand. Apparently some brands use the umbrella fold style where you have to bend down, some have to toss it out to open. Still, you need to try it to find out your preference.
5) pram face inwards and outwards. Some models allow you to let baby face you so you can see. Fanciful, but I dont't think we need this. If we are walking, we look at the road , not the baby. And baby can look outside for more stimulation. See us so often , still make them see us when we go out? Haha.
There are many other factors.. Like, amount of compartments, types of wheels, and colours. I saw on mazagines the really fashionable ones, $1000plus., . " But these I think are not the main considerations.
So as for me, using combi miracle turn.
