Also can any one who went for the tour, pls share what to expect and if need to "check in". I asked the hospital info desk and the ladies said just take lift to 2nd floor delivery ward. Does the mommy need to be wheeled chair to delivery ward?
Many thanks jofeny for your prompt replies. Really helps. Appreciate it.
Lol I've already made a list of items to bring for delivery but it's more like a resort getaway list of items! Aiyoh.... I hope the list is not too exaggerating... Heehee
I pulled a cabin luggage bag there . Haha!!
Oh ya mummies, I have 4 Thomson Medical Center carpark coupon to let go if anyone is interested. Selling at 4 pieces for $15, one at $5. By mail.
The carpark coupon is still payable at $3 per entry (meaning, you still have to pay $3 from your cash card. But irregardless of the duration you park there.)
I stayed in single suite then n they Gave me quite a few carpark coupon. You can also check with the Thomson Medical Center counter how many coupons you can receive based on the number of beds you selected.
My bro visited me from 8am to 1pm & he paid $17 for the carpark. It's crazy. The coupon is good if your parents n in laws will b in the hospital for long, then they dont have to worry about parking longer.
My Gynae n pediatrician r still at Thomson Medical Center, i can still use but thought that if any mummy need then you can utilize the coupon better.
The coupon is valid for 6 months starting from 9th apr (my baby delivery date). So any mummy delivery in Aug n Sept should b able to use this coupon without much issue.
If interested just drop me a message.
I stayed in 2 beded and was given 3 car park coupons and I dont get the purée baby shampoo wash, neither they given me cotton ball to wipe my breast... N the nurse did not ask me to do so.... I was given cotton ball n lotion prescribe by my gynea for the wound...
There is a big diff between service provided to one beded n 2 beded... Overall I m not totally satisfied with Thomson Medical Center... If I were to give birth again, I will chose Mount A.
I went for the tour. They mentioned 1 beded, normal delivery 3 carpark coupons.
Premium rooms will have more. Can't remember how many.
i choose 4 bedded but got free upgrade to 2 bedded. got the wash pack. i am leaking milk on 3rd day so better bring breastpad just in case. i feel no need to bring breast pump cuz i am on TBF.
Jofeny, you mean you stay in premium suite ... Wah isn't it very ex? Is everything very different from single bedded ward (ie the food taste better? The matteress is better? Blanket different?)
you can refer to the photos on Thomson Medical Center URL to see the difference between the wards.. dont know what's the real diff apart from room size n price too.. Say service different but there r some nurse that I dont like too. Especially the one who helped me to wash up, she is very impatient when im in pain n i ask her to wait.. But I would say generally they r quite ok.. Got a few r really very nice.. I recall a young chinese nurse.. N she is really very passionate.. you see the way she carries n look after babies.. The love for the baby is all in her eyes... My baby was under light for 1 day due to jaundice, my hubby says my boy keep crying under the light n the nurses sing song n pat him until he calms down.. I think it's quite nice of them.
While I have read of many negative stories online, my own friends who delivered at Thomson Medical Center all have praises for Thomson Medical Center, so I go ahead with Thomson Medical Center. I think it really depends and I hope I have as good an experience as my friends!
Anyway, any pediatrician to recommend at Thomson Medical Center, pls?
Haha.. Refer to sept 2012 mummies.
My pediatrician is Doc Ang Ai Tin from Thomson Medical Center.
I think a hospital is a hospital. just dont expect to b treated like you r in a 5 star hotel. The nurses there r on shifts n naturally they will b tired n listening to baby cries everyday is really no fun. You will know later. So just have more patience with them too. I think it will be ok.
Hmmm I believe as for services it is standard hospital services... And agree with Jofeny that nurses have their mood n emotions too especially the long hours...
I have been into URL to check out on the diff wards but... I feel that singled bedded ward is enuff for me as the suites are just some asethetically nice... Unless the bed is more comfy heehee maybe I will change my mind =)
I m still puking crazily every hour so I can hardly go out to check out on the room tour... Any mummies checked out the comfy level of the beds before? Many thanks! ^^
I think the beds r all the same. Initially when my room is not ready, they put me at a double room to rest first. Then when the room is done up then they pushed me on the bed to the room.
Oh I did not go for any room tour as well.. My idea was just chop chop deliver n b gone.. So never bother.. The Thomson Medical Center maternal classes all I never go. Even the breastfeeding lesson given free of charge during my stay.. I skipped too. Oppss

generally i would say their service is good, the way the handle baby is very fast and chop! you will feel heartache when you see the way they handle but they have been handling babies everyday so i guess they are so used to it. Some nurses are very good, only 1 or 2 is not good. As for pediatrician, if you are on TBF, do not choose Ang Ai Tin, she is not into BF. during my time, she is still ok with me (in 2011) but for my sister In law case (2012 Jul) she encourage FM. The nurse that give free lesson is also different from ours... ours is very professional but hers... i can only say, different nurse teaches differently.
Your sister In law baby got any medical condition? Because it will b strange how/why Ang discourage mummy to bf.
Anyway... I know that for jaundice babies, is not good to bf for those peak days (first 2 weeks) to let the jaundice drop.. Mummies can freeze the mlk so that it would not go to waste. This method is proven successful by Many of my friends. For the mummies FYI.
mine was also Ang Ai Tin. There is only 2 pediatrician and the other pediatrician is a guy, my cousin said he is pro BF. Also name Dr Ang.
If I'm not wrong, the other Mr Ang is Ang Ai Tin daddy. I overheard, unsure too.
I think at the medical wing there are a few more private pediatrician clinics... Just like the Gynae..
The service you get from single bedded ward n double beded ward onwards is definitely diff. My friend stayed in single beded ward, the service she get is far more better than what I received in 2 beded ward.
i did not appoint pediatrician, they assigned Dr Janice Wong. She is friendly and her clinic is not as pack as the other one...
Hmm.. Frankly I wun say the service is excellent or what.. I press bell then the nurse come.. I think it's fairly normal.. I dont think I'm treated like VIP or what..
Hi, do we need to bring going home clothes for baby or is it provided?
