Im already in my 12th week have not visited my gynae yet.... I have become overweight since my first child and this 2nd pregnancy came along as a surprise so im really worried about my health conditions as im not physically prepared.
Im afraid to engage or even go to hospital as im afraid to face all the tests..... esp. OGTT as im suspected gestational diabetes while pregnant with my 1st child. Any advice anyone????
Omg you are 12 wks and yet you have not't visit any gynae?? Hmm as you mention you are already a mother of one, you should be able strong & positive enough to face any challenge. What health issue you are having? If you know that you got health issue you should be visiting a gynae earlier for help rather than running away from any test...if you drag your visit to your gynae for help.. You are just putting yourself & baby at risk.
Doesn't mean that you r overweight .. Then You will have gestional diabete... Even a underweight mummy can have it! Every pregnancy is different.. Doesn't mean that you have while having #1 then you have it while having #2.
Even touch wood ... Really you have it.. At the most gynae will ask you to control your diet !! What's so difficult ??
Your child is a god"s gift. You should be positive & strong to overcome anything for this little one !
Thanks Dilys & Jenni for yr advise. I do not have any health issue since my 1st child its just that im overweight. Im just too scared that I might have difficulties in giving birth due to being unhealthy and alot of complication might come during this pregnancy, I really didnt expect to get pregnant. I dont dare to confide in my husband on the issue of me not wanting to engage any gynae as he might just blow up. Im just afraid.... I will try my best to bring myself to get a gynae by mayb 16 - 20 week. Hopefully everything is fine...
You are already in your 12wks you should go down to a gynae. Not to drag till 16wks -20wks. Guess you havent taken any vitamins for your pregnancy?? Is this fair to your unborn inside. Now it's not about you having guts or not to visit a gynae... It's a life inside. If you think and have no confidence about your own health.. Then in the first place you shouldn't get yourself pregnant.
Now you are pregnant ... Nothing to regret but to face the challenge ahead. No one will know what will happen in your pregnancy .. Good or bad .. you can't be so selfish to think so negative !!
I am very surprised that you are a mum of one already n you r still thinking this way !!! you should be strong !!!
There are risks of complications for every birth. Fact is, you are already pregnant. Even if there are complications *touch wood*, you will still have to face them! Even if you end up having difficulties in giving birth, you still have to give birth in due time right? Even if you see the gynae on your later stage of pregnancy, doesn't mean that it will be easier for you..
Relax! dont't think of the negative things when they havent even happen and might not even happen. Especially when all these things are not within your control..
In any case, I know two mums who are twice my size (I'm 1.68cm and not petite at all!) who got pregnant more easily than me and they got through their pregnancies very normally. Another had gestational diabetes for her first kid and she was so petite and now having second one very peacefully. So go see gynae and be a happy mummy - all the best!
dont't hesitate .. PLS CALL THE GYNAE NOW & Fixed an appointment! How can you determine a person overweight during pregnancy?? Btw can I know what is your weight/height?? Ever thought about why you are overweight when you are having #1?? Over eating?? Eating stuff that baby is not absorbing that's why you are gaining excess weight after giving birth???
You are consider a experience mother of 1. you have been tru.. So you experience once .. This #2 you should be more careful with the food that you are eating. In order to keep fit during pregnancy is be positive, have sufficient supplement, eating well. PLS : there is no way for you to go on diet during pregnancy ..... Do you think that by losing weight in pregnancy is good for you ?? There is a life inside... you should be worrying for his/her health rather than worrying about gaining weight!
Did your hubby know that you are pregnant ?? Why did he drag you to a gynae??? Sorry.. But now you are being too immature & selfish ... Really taking your baby"s life at risk? Btw ... How old are you?? you seems to be very young to me but ... You are already a mum of one ... Dear .
Omg .... What happen to this world !!!!! Wake up ok mummy fadeela!!! You are bliss with a child ... dont't take things for granted ... Treasure it !!! Pls : Alot of mummies trying so hard to have a baby... Some who are pregnancy facing any minor or major obstacles during the test.... strongly went tru !!! Most of us are 1st time mummy ... We can be so strong ... Why not you???
You shouldn't be asking ask for advice ...here..... you should get a professional ... A gynae will help you !!!!
Oh ya !! Pls dont't compare yourself to mummies who are overweight during pregnancy... Every person different condition!!!! Pls seek help !!!
A friend of mine had good for all her pregnancy and now she is expecting a 3rd baby. She is not overweight either.
Kandang Kerbau Hospital send her to a dietician to advise her on diet which she is now following strictly and it is within control.
So if you are afraid of complication, the more you have to solve the problem earlier instead of running away from it. There are many other complication/risk other than good
Are you a first time mum?
After getting married i was overweight but i manage to keep fit & get pregnant eventually after 7 months with my first child at the weight of 80 kg. Im a big built person. So since early last year i was getting diagnose for irregular menses and is on birth control pill for a few months to get my cycle in place but my weight start to go up & up till it reach over 100 kg. and just last nov i got to know i was pregnant again.
I was also starting to keep fit again before i check for pregnancy but didnt know i can conceive with such a health conditions.
Anyway, im not trying to harm my baby, im eating healthy & getting folic acid & fish oil from normal GP.
my hubby told me to visit the gynae but i told him its ok with just normal vitamins
And i have a big phobia for c-section and im afraid im not able to give birth normal with such a weight.
You are blessed to have another baby. Since you dont't even consult with any gynae, there is no point worrying in advance... It's important that you go and see the gynae and take their advice. If you think too much on negatives, it will only affect you and your baby's health.
The earlier you consult with gynae the better chances for you to protect and prevent unnecessary risk... dont't worry and take care, dear
Yes I am a first time mum! even thou I am a MTB I am brave enough to overcome any obstacle & challenges I will be facing in pregnancy! you must got a positive mind...have the determination for the sake of baby. I should be more scared & worry as a first time mum.. But NO !!! Even thou" my baby was found to have swollen kidneys during my detailed scan... Of cos I am worried but I overcome it quickly just after 5 mins. I know I had to be strong... I am determine to deliver my baby naturally without epidural !!!
Since you know that you are overweight ... Even more important then you should be visiting a gynae than a normal GP.. By taking vitamins doesn't mean that baby is healthy also... ultrasound scan to make sure that your baby is growing fine.. Go for Oscar (*if you need one), detail scan ..go glucose test. Please dont't take things for granted that everything will be well... How sure you r eating well??
Being overweight is not a health issue... A gynae will Definetly help you along. Do you have gestional diabete when r you having #1? If yes.. you should be brave & go ahead with the test again. Your family got history in diabetes?? Well.. Even if you got it for #2.. What's the problem.. At least with the help of your gynae you will soon get rid of it! If you dont't get help.. Baby will born premature..
Why worried so much with having a c-section?? Doesn't mean that you r overweight you have to go tru c-section? There are many reasons for a mummy that need c-section... Like baby in breech position, If baby life at risk .. Etc.
If you got the determination to give birth naturally you should seek help earlier than wait till last min! you got a aim to Delivery naturally theb work for it ... Why worry ... Come on !! There are lots of things to worry in pregnancy. you really never know what will happen the next moment so why dont't you be positive & face and overcome anything bravely!!!
Btw... Did you delivery naturally or c-section for the 1st one? Most likely .. I believe that your birth control pills is the cause of weight gain... R your family member overweight too ??
I had to go thru cervical stitch, weekly injections and not to mention the 6 hourly medication that I have to take just to secure my pregnancy, but I did not give up cos my little one need me!!!
Trust me, you can do it! Hang on.. Go and seek professional help at the soonest!
you need to be brave for your unborn. you are entering into your second trimester, so pls visit your gynae. its important to eat well, rest well and take your supplement well. we are not only responsible for ourselves, but we are responsible for our unborn child and of cos, your #1. you need to stay healthy in order to provide the best care for your children. even if you found out anything unsound, its still not too late to seek medical help.
fyi, i have a very bad oscar scan results and im only 26 this year. my first trimester aint a breeze for me, i have been vomitting everyday, at least twice per day. even fainted outside and have fits. being rushed down to the hospital and is taking lots of supplement and taking good care of myself now. im doing my amnio this week and im feeding myself with positive advice and people. be brave! you always has this forum to answer share your doubts/worries if you have any. take care and may god bless you and your child!
