Yup youre right! Use front opening dress. Nurse will need to change your pad n wash your wound after you deliver for first day. She will do this while you r lying on bed. So dress better than pants.
Re pads....... I. Think change once or twice in a day. Cos they're really thick n absorbent.
I read online the skin to skin contact immediately after birth is very beneficial for baby.... But that didn't happen for me. The doc or nurse Just placed her in my arms for about 2 min, while I'm still clothed, then took her away to put in that warmer basin while doc stitched me.
I only did BF after a few hours after delivery.
I would have love to BF her fully but no milk, only small amount of colostrum came out. Baby is also too tired to stay awake. Always suck a while then fall asleep at breast. So the nurse did half formula feeding, half breast milk. If choose breast milk only, not enough for baby.
No I didn't bring pump to hospital. I dont't think you need to cos your milk won't come that soon. My milk only start dripping and coming out today. 4th day after delivery. So I think no need pump at hospital cos there's really nothing!
Oh, in our antenatal class, our trainer said that actually for the first 3 days its ok if baby did not drink any milk cause they have reserved. She said best not to give formula milk.... is it necessary to give?
I am not sure if they wld prescribes tht to us... I think they will encourage us to do it naturally....Originally Posted by Rukia:641939
Cupcakemum, did you go poo poo after that?
Ladies, just finished my gynae appointment. At 34 weeks, baby weighs 2.3kg. Yet to turn her head though. Gynae also mentioned that too early to measure her head circumference.
Next visit 2 weeks time.
so sorry, you just discharged and we are asking you so many questions while you are resting..

Yes the nurse will check n take care of you while hubby settles paperwork. After that, he joined me to accompany me while waiting for baby to be born. So paperwork is the only time he was away from me.
Hmm maybe depends on how you delivered. But after going through labour and stitches, I did not have any energy to move. Also, my stitches were still fresh and sore, so I can't move. As I mentioned to Tannie, they will insert catheter as you won't have energy to move and the perineum is too sore to pee or walk.
Wow 36 weeks n 4 days eh... you r making me so anxious! I too can't wait to hold my baby n see how she looks like! Well you take care n have a good rest ya..
As for me, went in the dr's Offc today w menses like cramping since last night lasting 1-2 mins n it's about half an hour apart. Dr check my cervix n it was still close. That was such a relieve! Praying for her to stay at least go another weeks or so in my tummy tho.
My baby is also growing at a rapid rate! Just last week(34 weeks) she was weighing 2284g n today(35 weeks) she is weighing at 2665g! That's about 380g diff!! In a week??!!! Now I'm panicking! Did ask the dr if she's on the big size bt dr Said it was average.
What do you say mummies??
Dear Sweetoothz, I did a quick check. Such weight at week 35 is within the norm so no worry. Moreover your gynae assured that baby's weight is average She seems to be growing well so this is good news indeed.
I hope my gal can grow bigger too. Anyway, the actual weight at delivery will differ, usually lighter than gynae's estimate. Think on good track so stay positive
Hallow, I preggy for my 3rd baby now. EDD is mid of may also. Think this year a lot of may dragon baby ! Gambateh!
Thx fr your feedback.. =))
First time I see her gain so much weight in so little time! Scared the head cannot come out out of my VJJ!!
I'm pretty small framed so that's y abit panicky. Hehehe..
Which hospital did you go for the tour at?
Surprisingly... The nurses were very encouraging and told my hubby to take photos of my baby once she was born! They said.."quick quick take photo!" they also took family photo for 3 of us.
As for hp, can. They told me to standby my phone next to me cos at times hubby go toilet or drink water while I was waiting to give birth.
No hubby didn't cut. Doc didn't ask and we were too involved n overwhelmed with the birth that we forgot! Do ensure you inform thevdoc if you want hubby to cut! Oh ya... Ask to see your placenta too! It's really quite an amazing sight
How do we deliver the placenta? Do we have to push it out?
