I'm so stress up.. My boy is 13 days old, he's drinking 70ml of enfalac FM.. Is 2 and 1/2 scoops of milk powder to 70ml water too thick for him? Because previously he can poo quite normal but today he just poo 1 or 2 tiny pieces and just stopped. Which makes me so worried for me.. =(
Hi, we went to clementi polyclinic for baby' 1 month vacination and the nurse told us about 5-in-1 and 6-in-1 to be chosen in 3 month vacination time.. So it is still available there. Which polyclinic you go?
How to place order?
i tried but ive observed he spits up even after burping so just try to keep him vertical for a while after feed.
according to my confinement lady, babies at full moon should be able to take 3-4oz - i think this is about 100- 110ml of milk
My baby is going into his 3rd week now, and with the assistance of lactation consultant i managed to pump 100ml yesterday. becareful not to overpump. Massaging well will give you much more milk and kinder to your breasts than longer pumping.
its normal for some blood/discharge from navel after it drops off. there are no nerves and baby wont feel any pain.
just monitor and make sure it doesnt develop into infection.keep using cord spirit and the powder should be ok.
my baby's cord dropped at around 13days. no discharge after that.
Called polyclinic again and spoke to a different lady. She clarified that her colleague said wrongly, it is not no more 5-in-1 and 6-in-1 jabs but meant no more package offered For 5-in-1 and 6-in-1 jab frm dec onwards! Faintz! Meaning now we have to pay for the 5-in-1 and 6-in-1 injections individually unlike previously they have a package price... Ai yo, i told her that is a very big difference between saying they dont't offer the injections vs they dont't offer the package price ! I was very upset about the wrong info given and feedback to her that i almost wanted to go to pediatrician for injections instead!! sigh... Hope next time they check the info properly and not mislead the public...
mummies, i'm so paisay for the confusion... At least it is cleared now and we can go to polyclinic for 5-in-1 and 6-in-1 injections! Yayyy!
I have engorgement n went to see gyane today n given antibotic..but now I worry that eating antibiotics will stop milk supply..will it happen? How do we find lactation consultant? Is it from Thomson Medical Center? what is the hotline? you mean we just call in n then can go down n meet them? Wanted them to massage for me as my breast like cant pump out as much milk as before areadi. thanks
My lactation consultant is Alice Teh. She is really nice - patient, doesnt scold you or expect you to endure pain. She is very motherly and effective - she showed me how to latch baby correctly and make me do it myself to make sure i can do it on my own. She also thought me how to use my breastfeeding pillow, massage properly to make sure no blocked ducts develop and showed me how to use the pump correctly. I had a home visit and another visit at the Thompson medical center and they were both worth(tho expensive). If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have been able to exclusively breastfeed my child. Just introduced bottle to my son at 3 weeks old yesterday with her. Even now, she freely answers all questions on phone whenever I have feeding issues.
She is available at Thomspon parentcraft center ($85 a consultation) or home visits ($190ish) for urgent cases. Best to make an appointment first. Thompson parentcraft hotline is 62514090
I gave up on the breastfeeding, yah scold me but the day we brought him go see the lactation consultant, I managed to latch him on properly. Came home after that was okay also but the last feeding before bedtime, he latched for 30min and is still hungry and my nipple is already sore and the other breast also still sore. In the end, fed him bottle. Thought I will try latching for middle of the night feeds which I did but was very painful. So were the subsequent two feeding. In the end, I was so afraid of latching him on because it's so painful and he is also getting frustrated with the failed latching and he was so hungry so I caved in and fed him via bottle instead. Cried so hard because I felt so failed plus also felt like I had tortured him by forcing him to latch on. Hubby told me to let it go and that he should bring us joy and not pain or anger. Anyway, the latching sessions kind of affected his feeding for yesterday. He was drinking like 60ml and will fall asleep and then wake up in one hour screaming for milk. Both hubby and me were so stressed out by him yesterday. Luckily towards night time, we managed to tune him back to more regular feeding -80ml for 2 hours. Today he started drinking his usual volume of 100-120ml. And I have reverted to pumping but breasts and nipples are still quite sore from the episode yesterday. Kudos to all the exclusive breastfeeding mummies!!!
Do they open on Sunday? Is Alice good at massaging breast to clear blocked ducts? My left breast is very hard n sore n can only pump out 20ml instead of usual 50ml. So I think I need someone who is good at massage to unblocked the breast. Feel so sad that now only pump 20ml n is so painful. The home visit limit eg an hr or no limit? Is it good to have home visit or to go down Thomson Medical Center? I just finish my one month confinement yesterday. But Monday is my review with my Gynae..I will check with my Gynae if I can go massage at Thomson Medical Center.
Thanks so much.
i just call the hotline n they are closed. If we call on mon, will they let us see alice on that day or have to wait a few more days? Or home visit can be the same day? Thanks
so sorry..just read your comments that not good to over pump..I start pump for 30mins on each breast due to my engogred breast. you think is it too long? I used to pump 20mins each but now engogred..I thought do longer better. When you say massage breast first, you mean we massage it first before start pumping or massage it while pumping?
It is Dec now, is it all Nov mummies give birth already?
I start my post natal massage today. Loooong time didn't do massage.......just knew that I was very tired, and feel comfy now~^^
Hey sorry for the late reply, just saw your messages - I know how urgent are breastfeeding problemsAlice said to massage first, properly, then pump. Massaging while pumping can disrupt the suction. Massage until breast is softer/try to clear any blocked ducts. Its hard to explain in words - but becareful not to massage too hard that you r sore.you can call alice directly - I pm-ed you her mobile. If you dont't mind the cost I think a home visit first is better, if you have any further problems can go to thompson as its half the price. Problem with going there first is they will assign you any lactation consultant if she is busy - you can try insisting on seeing her or maybe you dont't mind someone else.If you call her, she will try to see you as soon, thompson will try to slot you in whenever they have slots Hope you get it sorted soon
