Mummies, any of you has menses already?? I had a csec... Lochia stopped after 4 wks... Then 2 wks later, im bleeding a lot! Seems like menses... Normal??
No no menus yet. Wonder when it'll arrive? And can't have sex as it hurts?
Yuen. Yeah can't shop for myself when carrying babe but it's a good deterrent!!
Ahwang: sorry I meant you - that having baby in carrier is damn good for not shopping! Heh. But end up buying stuff for baby. Ha.
Reflux- its usually linked to gas I think. And I hear it in my baby. After feeding, an hour or two later she d sometimes wake up from nap crying! Then hear her trying to swallow. Must be really bad for her.
after 7 weeks my lochia kinda still on and off spotting until week 9 ... damn sian. then after week 9 i thought no more... week 10 start to have spotting again... 2 days were dark reddish brown but 3rd day is bright red, i thought my period coming back damn upset, but after that back to darker tone and then today clear again... weird. wonder is it my lochia still not entirely cleared?
for me, sex hurts... after one attempt i a bit phobic ><
My lochia stop at 5 weeks totaly but still waiting for my period.. I read that breastfeeding makes you dry down there so thats y maybe painful? Plus episiotomy wound hurts in my case no episiotomy so not painful but dry cos i was still breastfeeding that time.. Didnt have the chance to try again lol cos everyday tired -_-
ya i think dry n keep scared the episiotomy wound will hurt or tear although after so long, so still phobic n dare not try again ><
felicity you n i same...my lochia also ended around 8 weeks after my csection then 4 days later my menses came for 1 week just end today
Help.. My gal today vomit couple of times after her feeding. She didn't fuss, she sleep in my arm but when put down, few minutes later she vomited. When carry her upright she also vomitted. What should I do? Shld I give her gripe water now to ease the reflux?? I feel pity for her not able to sleep soundly due to reflux ((
Hi nessa, so i suppose it's normal for me... Phew... I didnt expect my menses to come so soon... Wonder if it's coz of our csec... I was still worried it's internal bleeding from the csec wound...
i guess is normal but didnt think i stop wearing paf for 8 weeks gt it wear again so soon lol...but i stop bf since wk 4 or so coz had to go back to wrk tis month so my son on fm...
i ask my gynae about vomiting coz my son also did that last time she said coz we overfeed him...he taken too much try to cut down...which i did n he didnt vomit....

yup my baby took 1st month hep B jab last fri, and ahe developed fever on sat.. now fever subsided.. stopped panadol .. actually i waited till sunday noon then i fed her panadol coz fever was spiking 38.5 and above.. doc told me to give only when neccessary as baby's liver not yet developed to handle drugs.. so i dragged and gave her about 4 doses till mon morn stopped as fever subsided.. Did your baby take 1st month hepB jab? So fast take 6-in-1 jab? i very apprehensive about taking so much at such young age.. scared she cannot take it... dont't want to risk a high fever... i have a colleague whose son is autistic.. he said baby was born ok, but after some vaccination that caused high fever, he suspect its due to that which affected his kid... not aure how true that is.. its a different school of thought..
I very blur about vaccinations.. so far for 1st 2 mths, what has your PDs advised your baby to take? My baby only took 2nd hep B jab at 6 weeks @ pediatrician.. i'm thinking of bringing her to NUH or polyclinic for jab.. any idea of the waiting time and cost?
I think my lochia has stopped around week 5, week 6 maybe got alittle bit of stain, but now seems completely gone, but still wearing liners just in case... i'm still doing exclusive breastfeeding...
Hey lin, my baby has bad reflux due to mayber her muscle not developed well, milk is not locked down and will backflow, the acid burns her throat.. she arches backwards in pain and ask for more milk, screams from sleep due to the pain and also see milk gushing out of her nose and mouth.. hmm what do you define as 'vomit'? is it accompanied with vomitting/gagging sounds? or issit just regurgitation / spitting, meaning more of flowing? My baby has not done merlion style or projectile style before.. mostly just a gush of gluey mucus milky stuff coming out after each feed or during burping.. reflux can come 1-2 hours after feed or even just before next feed, she'll be puking out gluey milky substance.. already trying to feed lesser(i can only latch shorter time if she allows, but she still fusses after feed , end up i feeding her more i think). Doc says i have an oversupply for her and need to express out and feed her 50ml per feed and feeding more frequently to minimise reflux, but i wanna latch easier (hate the washing, sterilising, etc).. so i'm trying to slow down my supply by pumping only when super engorged and pump to relieve pressure only.. just pumped 5 mins already 200ml combined! This was since i last fed her at 10.45pm for 7mins on my left... i dont know if i shld really decrease my supply.. while some of my friends encourage me to pump n store .. coz next time go back work can have good reserves.. any mums doing pump n store yet?
Wa meltie! 5min and you get 200ml combined? Why you got so much supply? So envious! I pump 30min also barely 200ml .. My supply now is just enuff for baby so can't pump and store yet though I would like to do that before I start work..
Meltie: I was up due to baby grunting. I picked her up and she spitted white processed milk after that she was asleep now. This eve I put her sleeping at side ways and it did help her to sleep more soundly from 10pm till 2am.
I noticed my gal alwys have reflux after taking frozen ebm. I tried to feed her frozen ebm 2feeding on last week and this week as well and she has quite bad reflux. Maybe I should give up giving her frozen ebm. The frozen ebm was given to me by my friend who has extra supply. Perhaps her ebm doesn't suit my gal..
pediatrician mentioned the 6-1 jab need to Be taken within 6to8 weeks, husband will be taking long leave next mon so thinking to bring baby for jab and if baby is fussy, he can help to take care. husband mentioned 6-1 already included 2nd dose of hepB. Did your baby fussy when she has fever? Can baby with fever sleep at night? I gotta prepare mentally for the jab.. Haha.. For injection at poly, my friend said not worth it as waiting time is super long and cost may not differ so much and it is better to do injection by pediatrician as pediatrician knows the baby since birth.
So envy you have a lot of supply. Mine only can pump out avg 70ml total.. So I am topping up with fm.
Meltie wah... Hw envy ... Im still partial bfg... But nvm I will jiayou...
Just now felt left boob slightly engorged.. Am so happy... Lol weird me.. But my supply has been low..
I usually made morning 1st appt for polyclinic jab.. So waiting time still ok.. Coz i made 8am appt i reached 7.30... So by 8.20 done! .
Hmm i also dont know why my milk supply is so good..i dont have big breasts to start with.. i only ate lactagreek that my gynae prescribed in 1st 2 weeks, supply dropped end of week 3, then i bought again.. drank green papaya fish soup afew times.. it was powerful to cause me to feel very engorged.. so told mother in law no need to make .. hmm oversupply also not good.. best is to have enough supply that baby needs at each stage so that will not overfeed baby.. pediatrician suspect my baby is overfed as i latch her for comfort for colic and during normal feeding, the letdown brings out alot of milk.. causing my baby to take too much and have more reflux... sigh.. i trying to secreaseto suit my baby's needs.. also worry when i decrease, will i be able to increase back later on to pump and store for work.. still have not't decided if i should quit to e full time mum.. but still if i reaign, need to serve 1 month notice... need the store of milk...
meltie: your supply is good beacuse you let your baby latch! it's as simple as that all other mums: you have to believe that you have enough milk. there's really very very few of us who dont't have enough milk. if today you dont't have enough milk, let your baby latch more, and the milk supply will kick in tomorrow. it's a natural reaction. by feeding your baby FM, he/she will latch less and hence you will have less milk!
my supply is great too, but I dont't even do anything special, or eat/drink anything in particular. my breasts used to be a A cup. so it's not related to size of boobs at all!
as for vaccinations: it will eventually be cheaper at polyclinics, for sure. but wait time can be bad - but just get the first appointments? that's what a friend told me. I have not't tried.. and as this is my first (and maybe only!) child, I think I'll just take her to the pediatrician... can ask him all the questions I have too!
the 6 in one includes the hep B vaccine so if you've already given the second shot of hep B to your baby, use the 5 in one instead.
have any babies here been given the 5 in one yet?? felicity? anybody? how was your baby after the jab?
I'm thinking of giving my babe the 5 in one before our holiday, but worried that she'd get a fever etc. hm.
i m doing all my son immunisation at polyclinic is cheaper and can use medisave or his cda acct to pay..depends on which one...the 6in1 will be done when he is 3 mths thats what the polyclinic suggested and they have a package for it...
Hmm as for vaccinations, i prefer to delay and stretch it out for my baby.. dont't want to stress baby's system.. take it slowly bah.. i heard my friend brings baby to polyclinic for jab, for bbs is very fast, no need to wait that long..
wow holiday! your baby going w you? so fun.. i wish i can have a holiday.. dont mind if baby is on a solid feeding schedule..
Reiann my suggestion dont go holiday immediately after jab...
My #1had her mmr then about 1 week later go holiday sick throughout! Stretch a little.. Let e vaccination settle in before travelling
Yes book first few appt very fast.. N baby like prenatal appts.. Special q... No need to squeeze with norm patients very fast... Unless seeing dr coz usu polyclinic only 1dr (not pediatrician).
Reiann my baby had 6-in-1 at 2 mths. Hubby signed the package at pediatrician. she had fever the next day... pediatrician says to feed med only if temp goes beyond 38 deg C? Her temp went up to 38.3 n I only gave her two doses 6+ hours apart on second day, and she's ok on third day.
My baby had the 6 in 1 at 6 weeks last Thursday. She also had pneumococcal and rotavirus vaccines at the same time. Was a bit hesitant to give so many vaccines at one go but the pediatrician said it was not uncommon although he left the decision to us. Baby didnt have fever after the vaccines.
Wow meltie... you r starting work so fast? I though I am the only one. Today is my week 2 at work alrdy.
dont stop breastfeeding! what I do is, I pumped n some store in fridge some store in freezer. As my baby eats 8 times a day, I will keep 8 bottles of ebm in the fridge (all poured in the desired Amt) my mother in law taking care of my son, so all she needs to do is tk out each bottle n warm it up. When I come home, (around 8+pm) I will latch baby in his next feeding time. I am doing so to maintain the bond between baby n me. Plus I enjoy that special moment
Milk stored in the fridge can be kept for 2-3 days.
N previously (when I was in my end of 1st month) I started freezing my milk. Now got about 70 packets in e freezer. (all packed in quantity of 100ml) The milk can be kept 3-6 mths (but I think better to keep it less than 4-5 mths max)
Currently my son (now 10 weeks 2days) drinks 130ml. (he drinks 3hrly) N each time I pump can only b 130ml each side so far. So in futur of baby drinks more than 150ml then prob have to start using the freezes packs?
Right now is lunch time so I am pumping in the toilet.. The milk kept in the cold pack can last 24 hours-so the moment I reach hm I quickly place them in e fridge. I pump twice at work. One at 12noon another at 5pm. Cos I work till 7pm. I wished I cld b a stay hm mum too.

excellent, piglim!! very good to hear of mums still continuing bf babies even back at work. that's the way to go - and that's the way I plan to do it too. I hope to latch my baby before I leave for work, and then once back from work I can feed again, and another time at least, so at least 3 times a day direct latching, and the rest - just pump.
piglim: I read that babies' intake of milk do not go up from 1 - 6 months. they remain about the same, of an average of about 24oz (varies from baby to baby from 19 to 30oz per day). so what your baby is taking now for milk is the same at 6 months. after 6 months it might go up, but most likely go down cos we will start weaning baby by then.
thanks to all mums on tips/advice on vaccinations!
Rod: hm ok thanks for the heads up. I will consider the possibility of giving baby jab after the holiday. but slightly worried cos I'd only have two weeks to settle her in post holiday and I'll start work.. hmm
