Oh ya my baby still wriggle and squirm alot when latching... sometimes due to bowel movement or gas.. but at times she is just excited? not sure about letdown...
Anyone using huggies ultra S size? i just switched from Fitti to huggies S.. seems to always leak ... yesterday leaked 3 times !! Poop n pee!! I had to bathe baby again when the poop soaked her whole back!! gosh...
sigh, as my baby got yeast diaper infection, i sort of feel i got an itch at my nipple.. dont know if its dry due to prolonged latching or got thrush... sigh... :/
Meltie I was using mamypoko s n almost never had leak... dont't rem any at all. now using nepia M size bought from motherhood expo... Quite big but no leaking so far except once when mother in law strap too loose n the diaper came down n poo went up the back all over. Told her to put the tab over the number 1 on the diaper n no leakage eversince.
Lizzy thanks! I'll go check them out!
Anyone ordering anything from amazon or any baby store in US please let me kno, i wanna tag along thanks
Meltie, my gal also got red rashes on her cheeks and now spreading on her neck and back. it seems like eczema because previously she had eczema and it seems like it cannot be totally go away.
the funny thing is, the rashes will be less inflamed and red if she poo! BUT, she poo only 3-4 days once!! so if today she poo, the next day her face will be red again. and i think inflamed or not, the rashes is itchy because she kept rubbing her hands with it.
pediatrician gave me steroid cream and physiogel to apply, but it cannot be completely go away. how??
i use probiotics on her too, lacteol fort. because she vomits every time after feeding. i finished off 6 sachets alrd and i wonder if it's safe to feed her daily with it?
how much you get biogaia? my pediatrician said it's $45 before gst!! faints!
now i taking over nite duties..as my mother in law can't handle at nite...not sure i will be able to get enuff sleep for work next day...
Nessa I m sure you can cope with e night duties.. For me I chose to do so even though mother in law volunteered to do night duties. I feel as I m the mother of my son I have the duty n responsibility to tk care of him. Alrdy can't spend time with him the whole day cos of work so at Least at night when he slps with me I can watch over him. I really dislike the way my mother in law tk care of my son... Treats him like an object.. Eg; time to shower time to eat time to this n that... REGARDLESS of whether he Is sleeping or not. It's like hello.. If you r sleeping n someone disturb your sleep you like it? Tsk tsk... The more I see my mother in law the more I get pissed. N she like to pretend to b know it all... Like say "oh you r stressed lately see so much hair on e the floor, I take care of baby " so I will just bluntly reply "dont't you know there this old saying that when mummy hair falls the baby starts to babytalk?" duh it's written everywhere that mothers will experience hairloss... Then she will also say "I think you eat dont know what think, the frozen milk like got one smelly fish smell" so bloody piss.. So I reply "I know there is a smell. Most frozen milk will have smell n Taste different from the freshly expressed milk"
think the r/s with my mother in law is now irreversible alrdy. No matter what she does I just hate her.
Anyone know of lobangs to get cheaper parklon playmats? Baby things r really expensive ain't they?
Hmm this huggies leak alot frm the back.. not sure if its too small no space or my baby's poop too much.. recently all watery yellow stool that looks like curry with bubbles.. silent one.. can feed halfway and feel the leak, but she poop no sound... scrubbed 3 rompers yesterday!
i think steriod cream cannot use long term.. the zaricort (treatment for both yeast infection n ezcema) contains some steriod too., its an antifungal cream.. max use twice daily for 2 weeks and doqn to once a day for a week and to stop.. i think i will use max 2 weeks.. as for atopiclair, she say can use long term no harm...
my pediatrician clinic sells biogaia drops at $40 before gst .. i'm trying to see if we can get it outside coz its very small bottle and use very fast... $40 per bottle lasts 2 weeks i think...
i also bought lactacyd to bathe baby and going to buy physiogel AI (anti-inflammatory) to apply for her.. this one i think can only get frm clinics... all recommended by mummy friends who has baby w sensitive skin or ezcema... i very kiasu ... haha
My girl was told to have eczema too during the one month visit.. Was given desowen cream and ceradan skin barrier repair cream to apply over the rashes. Was told to change the shower soap to cetaphil. As I was supplementing with formula milk, was also told to switch to enfalac HA. But, after a few days of the cream, it has gotten better.. So, I stopped all the cream, just continue with the shower bath.. She dislike enfalac HA, which I think is quite smelly too. So, we continue with enfalac and gave her more of freshly pumped breastmilk as she refused to latch and refused to take refrigerated breast milk. Ya, I understand the kind of difficulties in taking care, coz they will become very cranky due to the itchiness. Have to keep wiping her and keep her cool. We even installed air con for her.
My girl uses huggies M size, a bit big, but, not much leakage. Coz the s size a bit tight. Heard mamypoko is good. Bought a packet of M to try and bought 2 packets of Pamper to try too. Anyway, shop and save having discount on Pamper brand, 24 cents per pcs.. Haha, I count by per pcs, easier to judge whether cheap, coz I realized they come in so many packaging..
meltie and other mums with poop diaper issues: I'm using goon, and usually it keeps the poop in. but, as my baby is now pooping less often but a lot more in volume, inevitably it leaks. I kind of accepted it already! but I find that the small size goon doesn't fit my baby as well as the NB size (think I discussed this with pinky!), so after I'm done with the pack I'll try M size.
meltie: are oyu sure blueberries are no go??? I have a smoothie EVERY MORNING of blueberries, raspberries and banana!!! a lot of it too!
piglim: I'm so sorry to hear about your mum in law I feel sorry that you're trapped this way too. must really suck! I also get sooooo irritated when I have to explaint o my mum that what she says is truly rubbish. she doesn't even want to listen. and just nag at me. A:LIHL:IERO:IOS:GIHO#IEUOIH!!!!!
though I have to say, that I do wake my baby up for feedings, cos I do have a routine (7am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm, 11pm), and this way my baby doesn't wake up for night feedings. but that's my baby. and I do things my way, which makes sense to me and my schedule etc. but even this, my mother in law also say that I shouldn't wake baby up. but if I dont't, then I'll be up feeding baby at 2-3am. I dont't want that!
sigh. can't please everybody.
meltie: my baby too, when she latches on, she squirms and 'hits' my breasts too! I know it's not an issue of overactive let down (cos my milk has now stabilised), but more of a gas and maybe reflux issue. well. and her poop.. not that green today, but definitely still greenish!
piglim ya i also think so...i hope i got enuff sleep for my work the next day...
nessa you can do it one! for own baby, no matter how tiring we also can do it one... jiayou!
piglim yes! baby things are really expensive... both our savings depleting so fast from buying things for her n paying for her jabs etc...
meltie when she was using drypers NB will leak... somehow drypers cutting is smaller than all other brands. she used drypers M before cos we have some drypers M from hampers, so after her mamypoko S finished, we used the drypers M and then now the nepia M... we also stocked up on pampers L during the motherhood fair... very kiasu >< cos we q till our turn, S & M all sold out lol...
reiann lol my baby sometimes likes to hit her head on my breast or rub her face on it... if in the morning when i'm engorged will be quite messy ><
for the jabs can use cda or medisave depends on the jabs...
I've lost all the weights i gain during pregnancy. Can fit in most of dresses and shorts except 2 skinny jeans which is really skinny. But still find my tummy flabby and big..
me too. I do wake my baby up for feeding which i kind of stick to schedule everyday too. I find it more manageble, can have time to do other things.
Reiann and yeoymp, I am also trying to stick to a schedule. But what if baby wakes up earlier than normal and seems hungry - would you feed her earlier or still stick to schedule?
Also, now There are some days when my baby can kinda sleep through the night from 11 or 12 to 6 am but this messes up the usual schedule of wake up time at 8 am and consequentially the whole days schedule. How to deal with that? I am glad that baby is waking up at 6 am instead of 3/4 am to feed but this means the schedule for the rest of the day is brought forward...
sometimes i will feed him 1hr earlier is ok..if he cries for milk...sometimes he can sleep 6 hours also messes his feed time just have to work around it...
if you want to first feed her at 8am, and baby is going through night for about 6 hours, then must feed her at 1 or 2am. but if your baby can last longer, then try to delay it. I had to 'train' my baby too. there were a few VERY tiring nights in a row when I was woken up by her at about 5am, but I really only wanted to feed around 7am (with last feed at 11pm), so at 5am I'd just soothe her without feeding her. pacifier, carry her, etc. kept doing that. by about 6.45am I'd then feed her. and in the day, I fed her till she was VERY full at every feeding. after a few days of this, she got better and lasted from 11pm -7am.
that said, I think 8am is quite late for a feeding! most babies would want first feed at 6 or 7am. apparently it's their natural biorhythm.
as for the day schedule, I used to cluster feed at evening, i.e. 2.30pm, then 5.30pm, then 7pm. but i eventually dropped the 5.30pm feed and brought forward the 7pm feeding till 6.30pm and she got used to that too.
I think + or - 15 minutes from the usual timing is fine. sometimes even 30 mins is ok. but I try not to veer too much off the usual timings.
yeo, what's your schedule like? I'm just curious
I have to eventually bring forward the timing of feedings too once I start work.. feeding at 7am is impossible for me to get to work on time!
I'm at my parent's place with baby this week and her feeding timings have gone all haywire! She used to consistently feed around 10+pm which will last her till 5+am.. But this week, she screams for milk at 9plus and wakes up at 3+ or 4+am.. So tired! I hope it is the change of environment that causes this change and hopefully everything will go back to normal next week wen we are back home.. Sighz..
I still have a couple of kilos to lose before I'm back to my pre-preggie weight.. These couple of kilos are very stubborn though! Been measuring the same for a couple of weeks.. And yes! Who says breastfeeding will slim down faster? It doesn't seem to work on me.. Sobz.. I managed to squeeze in one of my pre-preggie shorts but a bit tight at the hips (and I have very big hips to begin with).. My mum says hips will never go back to pre-preggie state.. Sighz..
And yes! My tummy is still flabby.. And my pre-preggie tops are tight at the chest.. I rem reading that our rib cage will expand during pregnancy to accommodate our growing baby.. But my rib cage doesn't seem to shrink back after delivery.. My chest still looks wide! And I know for sure the tight tops are not due to bigger boobs cos they are not huge.. So envious of mummies who slim down so fast!
Reiann, my 'schedule' is not as fixed as yours but it is usually 8/8.30am, 11.30am, 2.30pm, 5.30pm, 8pm, 10.30/11pm and 3/4 am. There were a few times she skipped the middle of night feedings and ends up waking up at 5 or 6 plus.. I'd like to stick to my 'schedule' as the evening feed at 5.30 pm is important for me so that I have time after that feed for my elder child when he comes home.
My yesterday schedule was as follow
12pm: ebm 120ml
3pm: ebm 120ml
6pm: ebm 120ml
My gal slept at 930pm and prob will wake up around 530/6am.
I just started latched my gal these 2 days and I am quite worried as I felt my gal drank too little as typically those 120ml ebm session I replaced with latching. What do you think?
