Any one has itchy belly? Mind belly start itch this week...
Have you start apply any strech mark control cream or oil? I apply Clarin cream in the day & Bio-oil at night.
I do apply bio-oil after bath... but still itchy
Hello, anybody went to the Motherhood fair at Expo yet?
i've been applying bio oil only... once in the morning after i washed up, once after i bathed at night... no itch so far... tummy still looking smooth and good, and hopefully stays this way all the way!
hi gnet, i went twice yesterday! haha~ once in the morning with my cousin... bought bumwear cloth diapers and nursing bras. then told my hubby about some of the deals (strollers etc bulkier items) and went back in the evening with my hubby... didn't get the strollers though cos realized didn't have the one we like, probably going to get at ubi, the shun li industrial park there those baby wholesale warehouses... but we gotten the baby cot's bedding set, bean sprout husk pillow, zip-up swaddle for new born, and he chose some cute bibs that's gg for 3-for-$10... although i thought we have enough (preloved items though)
happy shopping Gnet! they have some good deals for baby cots with full bedding sets! hubby and i were looking around, but we already have 2 preloved cots from friends so not spending on a new cot, only gotten the bedding set.
i saw some button-front or ribbon-front infant tops from a booth... looks very good and smooth, $5 each... compared to some i saw at ubi warehouse, quality not as good but costing $7~$8 each... i was very tempted but we have so many preloved clothes from friends for baby, plus new items from mother in law, i'm convinced now that my baby has much more clothes than me, needs a bigger wardrobe (which we have no space for... seriously the mummy needs a bigger wardrobe too ) and enough to last her for at least the next 2-3 years!
Hi Mummies! I have not been logging in for quite some time.. Been sooooooooo busy with work.. But at least now the craziness is more or less over.. Hee..
Wow.. Saw that you all have been busy shopping already! I'm like so lazy in comparison.. Haha.. Ok! Shall start buying things for my little princess.. Is the fair at expo good? Maybe I should pop down sometime..
felicity, i'm sooo envy of you!! I havent buy much clothes for my lil princess as yet. Waiting for this GSS and this fair to spend some on cute stuffs for her. Unfortunately for me, none of my relatives handed down their things to me in terms of clothing. So i gotta get some on my own.. I'm buying an adult size wardrobe for her, hopefully can fit all and last her until few years old.. hahaha
Thanks Felicity. I envy you too, you have so many things already. Guess I'll be spending a bomb later. Haha.. Shall lookout for the baby cot as well.
I heard the Q at pampers booth was quite long. Also some sizes are out of stock early
Yea, mine's starting to itch too. I use clarins tonic oil at night & the stretch mark control cream in the morning. I slap on more product when it's itching. Doesn't help immediately but if I do it consistently, the itchiness does generally lessen or go away. I suppose cuz the belly gradually gets more moisturized s the skin is more stretchable
But please dont't scratch it! Or at least not too hard! My mum warned me that if I scratch too hard, I might "tear" the already stretched skin & the stretch marks will form. That's what happened to her....
Just wanna ask if everybody is a side sleeper now? Read that we should avoid sleeping on the back so I went to buy the dreamgenie pillow to keep myself in the position.. but it doesn't seem to help with the backaches and my left arm is now always numb in the morning as I sleep on my left side.. and sometimes when I wake up, I find myself sleeping on my back still.. I hope I never deprive baby of blood..
I sleep anyway comfortable for me. I try to sleep at the left side but sometimes it's difficult to sleep, so I just sleep backside. My gynae said, I could sleep backside or sideway. But after 7 month and above, it's better to sleep sideway. She said it's not a must to sleep left side.
I sleep on my side now too becuz the belly feels too heavy if I sleep on my back now. Also, get a funn numb / tingling sensation if I'm on my bak for too long. I know what you mean about findin yourself on your bak when you wake! me too! So I usually tuck a big pillow behind my back before sleeping so even if I turn in my sleep, the back pillow prevents me from fully turning
Hee.. Glad to hear that tealeaf.. Will ask my gynae tomorrow too! But I find sleeping on my side aggravates the backaches.. Nowadays I feel like an old lady, pain here pain there.. And my feet are swelling and looks as though I have no ankles!
Apart from itchy tummy, my boobs itch too! But they certainly dont look like they are expanding.. Haha..
It happens that my hubby has lots of friends with daughters and can't wait to get rid of their daughters' old stuff so all pass to us! And my friend who gave me the cot.. The kids already in kindergarten, but the friend waiting to giveaway the cot which is in good condition, as throwing away is too wasteful... So when I asked she's happy to gimme, along w many toys n bathtub etc!
I also have difficulty restricting myself to sleeping on my side.. I will keep turning around one.. I have dreamgenii too, still will toss around in it >< my gynae actually sleeping 40 degree to one side, n suggest to prop a pillow under the back to keep one side up.., which is not easy although I tried with my dreamgenii., haha...
My bump is ok so far.. I use bio oil, n if away from home I use watever body lotion I can get my hands on, and slather all over the bump... Here's a pic ^^
So envious of you felicity! My sister In law have 2 boys and she did pass me some clothes.. I suppose for home wear is ok.. But mine is a princess after all.. So I will still want to dress her like one.. And once I started buying clothes, I can't stop! They are oooooooh so cute! To the extent that my mum and my hubby are banning me near any baby clothes shop.. Haha..
Just came back from expo.. Bought some rompers, swaddle, goon pampers, blankets and bibs.. Was still thinking whether to buy the cloth diapers but my mum say cloth nappies are much cheaper..
Oh ya.. Have you mummies bought your breast pumps? I was thinking of buying medela freestyle bcos of the superb reviews.. But it is so ex.. Still thinking still thinking.. have not't bought steriliser too..
my sister also passed me her son's stuff. So far I did not need to buy breast pump, sterilizer, clothes (at least until 6 months still it's unisex until that time hehehe). I only bought consumables stuff like bath foam, lotion, diapers, cloth diapers, bibs (since my nephew's had been used over and over again), blanket, towels.
No need envy me .. Just happen a lot of friends willing to give away when we ask around.. We didn't get from relatives , 95% from friends... Go ask around also? His sister has 3 sons, so not suitable also.. Gave us some unisex rompers n mittens, booties etc.. She threw away cot etc already cos rusty or not in good condition. I've been swooning over baby gal stuff but I'm not allowed to buy anything anymore =/ with so much hands-me-down cluttering our only spare room, also our study cum storage room.. My next problem is no room for baby when she grow up, n what if second one comes along?!
I'm getting medela freestyle.. I wanted something that's very portable n fuss free n I thought that fits my requirement. My friend can bring it w her n pump while singing karaoke w us .. Keke..
I was googling and saw this promo from megababystore for medela freestyle at $510 only.. No local warranty though.. Gotta top up another 100 bucks for warranty.. dont know should buy not.. Or just heartpain buy from retail.. But my mum told me not to spend too much on breast pump, cos dont know got milk not..
My friends advice milk pump better get brand new one cos difficult to wash clean thoroughly.. May have traces of other ppl's milk left behind if hands-me-down.. So I getting new one.. My hubby has a colleague whose wife is getting for me from USA... So I not getting from retail.. Also dont know how much I will have to pay for it yet... $510 sounds like a good deal cos most promo I see is $799..
