Camcam: yes you sho trip propping your feet up at nite.. and also try to stretch your calves/ thighs muscles before sleeping too.. or wear socks if you are sleeping in air conditioned room.. i think should help..
Welshia: getting a CL may be costly.. usually about $2K+ for 28 days.. so if $$ is a concern, mayb can ask your mom for help instead? can get the recipe online or in bookshop.. can shower and eat normally too if you dont believe in confinement.. but usually with elderly in the house, they may expect you to go thru the confinement practice (eg. no shower, no cold drinks/food, cannot have fans etc).
btw, when are you working mummies planning to start leave? I thinking only about a wk before EDD? is it normal? alot of ppl asking me why dont go off earlier.. hmm
Muffie & LilMissy: Added you both on facebook!
Lilmissy & Chocoholic: Awesome! hehe
Good morning mummies, you can add me on facebook too. To save your time trying to find me, here's the link.
From what I know. after giving birth, we should avoid wind from blowing at us (to prevent rheumatism) and etc. It's up to individual preference (your hubby and your family included) on whether one should have confinement or not. For me, my hubby and my mom are very traditional for such stuffs, so both of them insist that i MUST HAVE confinement. But lucky for me, my mom will be doing the confinement for me. My aunt passed her a confinement recipe book for her to follow.
Hi I am going from friday to sun!!! Gotta go with mum and mother in law so ya.. separate them better
Maybe they just wanna find out which ward you are choosing. Need to prebook. My doc never give me anything. Maybe I am too early.
@chocoholic: i'm planning to take leave one week prior to EDD as well. i dowan to waste my leave, and I heard from my colleague who took three weeks prior to EDD, she was bored to death..lol! but whether or not i will pop earlier is unknown..haha
You can add me at envizyn ewen
camcam: I have been having heartburn recently too! have been trying to avoid chilli and eating too full to minimize the heartburn. Ya! agree that it's a horrible feeling ...
You can try propping you feet up to avoid cramps. I have been propping my legs with 2 pillows. It really helps
Welshia: I guess sleeping in air-con room during confinement room is ok as long as it doesnt blow onto you directly. But I know the elders say that fan is a strict no-no.
chocoholic: I'm also planning to take 1 week before my edd. taking too early will be super boring .

@LilMissy & @chocoholic: I'm taking annual leave 2 weeks before my EDD. Hopefully I dont't pop before my leave starts.
@ewen: Wow! Going for 3 straight days?! Haha. And yes, I totally agree with you, it's better to separate mother in law and own mom to avoid any unnecessary conflict, unless they have always been getting along very well. :P Anyway, I heard from my colleague that the fair will be SUPER DUPER crowded especially on weekend. So be careful ya.

Hi Mummies! I'm a first time MTB and expecting my bouncy boy on Xmas day.
Anyone staying at Mount Alvenia during that week?
Also, anyone started prenatal classes? My hubby is getting excited watching delivery videos on youtube (-__-")
@visualspells: hello! welcome to the club!
@visualspells: Welcome to the club. I'll be attending my 1st prenatal lesson next Saturday. Can't wait.
Mine is PeiPei Pei
I have added some of you!
Prenatal lessons are fun and informative and good for husbands to attend too.
I'm thinking of skipping private cord blood banking.
I'm donating my baby's cord blood to SCBB... My hubby is supportive of this.
But I'm a little unsure...
Who's donating to SCBB?
I am still in a dillemma for the cord banking too.. dont know whether to donate or to bank privately too..
Will be attending the pregnancy classes starting in Oct! So exciting!
@selp: Yep, my hubby will definitely be joining me for the prenatal lessons. He's super excited to be a dad (it's our first child). And same as you, I'm skipping private cord blood banking (too expensive) and will be donating to the public one. But I'm not sure if it's called SCBB.
Any mummies here bought their confinement herbs already??? Where did you buy them from? I am thinking of getting them from Chinatown instead as it is more convenient .
And there are many herbal shops there. But I do not know if they are cheaper than the shops at Bugis. Any mummies care to comment??? ^.^
I am still suffering from excessive burping... On some days it can get so bad that before I can even finish the last bite of food on my plate, I start to burp. And burp. And burp further still. And I continue burping while having my shower. Haha! I think if I were to collect all the gas I produce, it will be enough to lift off a hot air balloon???
Any mummies burping madly like me? Help..........
Thanks for all the useful advices. Do add me up on facebook. https://www.facebook.com/WelshiaTan
I guess my mom and mother in law will help me out with the confinement .
Hmm. Can I know how many sets of clothing , mittens , booties , hats should I prepare for my newborn? My mom said one day he might need to change quite a few clothing or mittens if it gets dirty. But afraid of buying too much clothing and stuffs as baby grow super fast.
How many sets are sufficient for a day?
where do you think i should sign up for prenatal classes?
From the hospital that we are going to be delivered?
Or is there any external classes that we could attend to?
So far have anyone experience braxton hicks?
I've got mine last night and it was pretty uncomfortable.
I thought it was just be the tightening of the stomach nut
little did i know i feel like cramp-like down there.
I get breathless easily when I lied down. Its like i could
faint anytime in my sleeps.
Anyway, I dont intend to go for any leave till i'm ready to push! lol..
I hope i dont ended up giving birth at my workplace.
But let see whats the doctor's advice on that.
Anyone else have gotten back your woes of morning sickness? i'm on my 28th week
and all these symptoms are back to haunt me. I feel so good in my 2nd trimester.
How do the body even know its already in the 3rd trim. lol!
Hope to see you ladies out there for the baby fair! Im already so excited
listing down on what to buy!
