I hope I can see the gender at this position=(
A mummy: I believe there is still alot of room for the baby to turn around, gynae also told me baby tends to play with the umbilical cord, sounds so dangerous to me.
Hopefully you will be able to see the gender soon! I have gota wait till May for the next scan.
I think my appetide has improved but watching my weight coz I think third tri will put on very quickly n I want to save it for then in case I get weird n odd cravings! Ha. So scared my appetide is back with vengence.
have fun ladies who r meeting up. Doubt can meet coz my weekends are already quite packed!
Cant wait for detailed scan.. It's in early may too!
i seldom post here but when i can access the forum, i will silently read all of your posts
today i had my gynae check and i am having a boy
Congrats to all mummies here. My edd is end Sept
A mummy: exactly! I have also heard of baby entangled by the umbilica cord and stuff like that. Gynae did mentioned to me baby loves to have the umbilica cord kept in-between their legs. I hope it will remain like this.
faithmummy: congrats to knowing yours is a baby boy! Does your EDD gets earlier during each monthly scan? Mine used to be 20th and recently it was estimated to be mid sept.
the weird thing is my gynae never tell me about my edd everytime, only say end sept.
i also dont know how to confirm confinement lady like that...
thanks.... ya i am now in approx 16 weeks.
Good to know. My EDD is 1st week of SEPTEMBER. Who knows maybe earlier=x
Just wondering, I have been drinking chrysanthemum tea. Is it ok>? I read it online and it's not safe?!I have been drinking it for 1 week everyday!
My hip is crazy pain. Anyone feeling it yet?have to put hot balm then it kinda ease but 2 hours later there it resurface again.Could not sleep, walk or sit.
me too, been drinking chrysanthemum tea (bottled, carton pack, canned) everyday. I still cannot take plain water because my tongue still tastes bland/metallic. I only drink plain water when I need to take folic acid and calcium pills. How about green tea? safe?
I like chrysanthemum tea too!! ESP if chill but cannot take in front of mother in law. She dont't allow but I dont't see the big deal. Think coz it's cold drink not so much the type of drink. Ha.. I m not sure about green tea but think better not ... Can't rem but I read from somewhere. Drink soya milk? I drink orange or apple juice too so I be variety! My EDD does shift I think but my gyne says to keep with orig date we first knew.
Also, faith mummy , better book CL if have not't done so! It's getting late.
anyone has been drinking birds near or taking "dong chong cao＂ known as cordyceps?
Suggested to drink Aloe Vera or Bee Honey than those sweet drinks. It's more suitable during pregnancy.
Bird Nest and Cordyceps is must during 2nd trimester.
It's good for Mummy and Baby.
A gentle remind by HOKKI
I'm drinking chicken essence and bird's best daily. The traditional chinese medicine says not to overdo the bird's nest though. So I'll probably drink it once a week.
My mom cooks black chicken and red dates double boiled soup weekly. Checked with traditional chinese medicine, he says as long as only black chicken and red dates, it's ok. dont't anyhow add dan gui or other herbs. Told him I still cannot take plain water and he suggests boiling red dates with longans and drink as water.
Sunbeams: my mother in law nags too when she saw me drinking chrysanthemum tea taken from the fridge. But the reason she nags is not about the baby but says cold drinks will cause kidney malfunction as I grow older. But I just ignore her, it's not like I have been drinking cold drinks for the longest time. I only started drinking because of pregnancy, I dont't like the fuss she give, so I just ignore.
raoow: not too much red dates with longans ya, heard can be quite heaty and too sweet for now. But this is the only drink we can have during confinement period.
Hi All Mummies to be....
I'm new and first time preggie.. So excited but at the same time nervous.. Been reading this forum "silently" to gain some knowledge...
Now in my week 17.. My last ultrascan 2 weeks ago.. I asked my gynae to let hubby and me know the gender so that hubby can go get baby stuff over in US.. When gynae scan, baby was in his side view.... i slightly tap my tummy slightly asking baby to turn around and "open legs" so that Doc can see and daddy can buy your clothes... My baby very "guai" .. My baby really turn but end up butt face us... Hmph !! Doc gave up scanning after 10min.. No choice... My nottie baby... Must be my hubby's gene... Now gona wait till my detail scanning end of the month to determine the gender...
For the umbilical cord issue, i have an unfortunate story to share.. This happen to my bro and sister In law. My sister In law was preggie at week 30. One evening, she just felt very little movement from baby, so the next morning, they went to the gynae immediately.. Gynae scanned and noted no heartbeat.. My niece was over active and got struggled by her own cord.. Doc mentioned if we spotted this earlier, we can induce and save the baby's life... And this was so far the 2nd case struggling that he have seen and this is usually very rare and our case is more severe as baby twist the cord round herself more than 20times... We were given a couple of days to get over this before we arrange an appt with doc to induce the baby out.. It was a terrible experience having to see my 7 month fully developed niece corpse...
Well.. All mummies to be... Just a personal experience to share and please take note and rem to see doc immediately if you feel sumting is not right... do not wait.
Hello all sept mummies!
My little prince will be born sometime between end sept and early oct.
And yes I do agree the edd seems to get pushed earlier and earlier! Supposedly early oct but now end sept but doc told me could still be oct. so I guess I'm in between a sept and oct mummy
If you all dont't mind, could you share what vitamins did your gynae prescribe? Reason why I'm asking is because my first gynae gave me pre-natal vits, fish oil and calcium pills. When I saw my second gynae, he said no fish oil but DHA instead. And no calcium as too much calcium is harmful (apparently we consume enough calcium if we have milk, cheese and veggies regularly).
Thanks for helping
