When to join playgroup?

Hi all...
I'm a mother of a 15mths old girl. She's very active and always wants to play with other kids (doesnt matter if they're older than her). So, i was thinking of putting her in a playgroup for her to mingle around with others. When is the right time to put her in the group? Some people said its okay to mingle with my own friends' kids but most of my friends are not married or no children. I'm feeling sad for my daughter as she always plays with me or sometimes alone.

hi there... same with my son.. i have placed him in a wkend playgroup so that i can join in too...

Normally, playgroups accept kids who are 18 mths and above but mine got accepted when he's about 16mths plus amking him d youngest in his class. Basically, they will take a look at your child to see if they are ready.

you mean all the playground will also accept child below 18mths? by looking at their performance?

I think so too, normally they will acess your child, if they r stable in walking and running.......

Cos' my son now in infant care, so by 18mths he will b placed in childcare, where thy have playgroups too

yup playgroups do accept below 18mth by assessing your child.. mayb d way they walk or they respond to instructions and people around them.

if you're near clementi, there's one called playdays at sunset way. can start from 12mths.

i bring my 13mth old son to jwt gym for classes, and they have open gym sessions everyday for free when you sign up for classes.

hi mummies! i'm new here and i have a 15 month old girl nicknamed MIKA. I also have plans of bringing her to a weekend playgroup since she has become very playful and active. But my hubby says it's not wise to start them so early since they might get tired and dread going to school early also (since they kids will feel they started going to school early). what do you think?

i put my boy to playground half day from 18mth onwards.. then 24mths i change to full day.. get them socialise early batter

The earlier they mix around with other kids, they learn about social skills and interactions. So never too early to start.

i feel dat 18mths above to go playgroup is fine..as long as they're ready..but gota be prepared..once they start playgroup, they will fall sick more often too..datz what i heard fr my friends who r mummies..mayb initial period they will fall sick after dat they'll b fine..anyone got a view on tiz?
