does anyone have any good remedies for morn sickness...mine is getting quite bad..realy puked e'thing out. only now can eat luncheon meat with porridge only. HELP!!!!
hmm.. sour stuff works wonders for me..
During the 1st trimester, eat foods you can tolerate, rather than those that triggers nausea. But ensure you drink plenty of water, and vitamins.
I heard Vitamin B6 helps ease morning sickness also helps to replace nutrients lost by poor dieting and vomiting, but check with you gynae first.
i have terrible morning sickness from 10-16weeks. here's what i do that helps tp cope with it:
-eat very small portion of food(2-3 tablespoon of rice/porridge) but eat frequently like 6 times a day. dont't let your stomach be empty.
-eat anything that you like, but try to avoid spicy and oily food, even if junk food or less nutrition food is what you want to eat it's ok, cos baby can catch up with nutrients from 2nd trimester. for me, for that terrible 6 weeks i mostly eat rice and clear soup, can't even take my supplement tablets and my baby at 20th week is heavier than average.
-boil fresh ginger and mix some honey to it, the ginger smell helps alot with the nausea feeling.
-keep a plain crackers (mine is jacobs cream cracker) with you at all time, that tasteless biscuit is easy to eat and good to keep the stomach filled.
also dont't freak out if you lose weight, it's normal, i lose 4kg in 6 weeks.
hope the tips above helps you.
Sometimes mummies worry that they are not eating well enuf and will affect the bbs. Most of the time , bbs are fine cos they will just take whatever nutrients etc from our bodies at our expense.
Once we are able to eat well, we should then strive for a balanced and healthy diet.
For the first 4 months, i could only eat kim chi!!! But after my night sickness went off, i made sure that i ate well.
Avoid spicy food...??!!Dat was what i DID NOT do..!!! Hahahahah...For the first 2 months,i couldnt keep anything down..Vomit out almost every day..The only food that i managed to keep in was spicy food like curry..!! I guess different food appeal to different mummies wen it comes to relieving morning sickness..!! Sorry if my "tip" is of not much help..Just wanna share my personal experience..And i didnt gain any weight at all during those first 2 months...But by the third month,i gained 3kg..!!!
izanyzam, i think your gastric is good that's why can take spicy food. but i think for majority of people because we vomit alot our stomach is empty most of the time thus the gastric become sensitive. i can't take any spicy/sour/acidic food as it makes the nausea and vomiting even worse.
bread n soya bean milk helped my MS every morning~
but the thing is, my MS last thru the day..only after evening then disappear~
so i always try to keep my tummy with food.
on n off munch on some crackers n snacks, so i wont feel sick.
snowbear, it works for me too. my MS gets worse if my stomach is empty.
thanks for all the tips...sorry i havent replied as i was hospitalised due to severe vomitting during wk 6. i'm now wk 10 and things are slightly better..i get good days and bad days. i was also put on medication to help alleviate the morn (whole-day) sickness.
now i eat small meals and eat very slowly cos if i eat fast then i'll def be seeing the food again.
just now praying for tri 1 to be over so that the nausea will subside...am so tired and nauseous that i havent done anything except eat and lie in bed and watch tv. feeling like a pig...
maiz, you're almost there! Jia you. Just try a lot of food items in small quantity till you find what works for you. I find that sometimes, morning sickness is there for a reason. It filters out unsuitable food from your tummy. It's also a sign your body is produce enough progresterone to support this pregnancy. And lastly, it keeps your mind off a lot of things.
Some people say sweet/sour method works. Take something sweet and sour in a meal.
yea i've tried e'thing and all there is..i've tried sweet and sour...i avoided fish cos of the taste and smell...i'm taking what i can if it works and i dont want to hurl half way thru...just feeling tired of feeling sick you know...so am really hoping that it ends soon enuf. the end of tri 1 cant come fast enuf!!hehe
rice crackers works for me.whenever i feel want to vomit feeling i eat this helps.but if outside i really very unwell.
sour plum, sweets, 100 plus all dont works for me.
