Hi mummies! Just wondering if i can take durian during first trimester? not a big fan of durians but dont know y crave for it now. Also huge craving for frog legs porridge but am afraid may harm baby so didnt eat. can i take these two?
Yes I would think you can eat these two, but durian is heaty, so eat in moderation....
As for frog legs, if you are those superstisious type, might want to ask around if eat frog legs, like my mum in law says cannot eat crab if not your child will be "lucky xing dao"...old folks tales....
If you crave for something, just eat. For Durian is heaty, so dont eat so much. As for frog leg, heard from my mother in law is best not to consume during pregnancy. I forgotten the reason , could be like what Phoebii mummy says. If superstitious then dont eat.
But I all take, in moderation, I guess it all depends on yourself if you believe or not
I did not take crabs or other forms of seafood during pregnancy cos' scared might cause any form of allergy to my baby tht time, just precaution
actually eating crab or seafood is ok, just dont eat any raw food will do
I took almost everything, durians, crab, prawn, frog leg, cold drink etc but I dont tk coke at all cos of caffine. I'm also not a coffee drinker n dont tk raw foods. Everything tk in moderate amt shall b fine. My deziree is healthy n active n she has strong legs, love to kick here n there n already can hold her head for more than 1 mins when on tummy. I also tk orange, watermelon etc etc. So I think it's up to individual's belief to whether or not to consume those food
wah 10 seeds??hmm thats alot hahaa actually im also very thin weighing only 40kg at 1.59m. wahahaa usually i eat alot coz i dont put on weight but now just 8 wks preggie and i gained 3 kg! abit worried i might get too fat! But after reading all these replies i shall go pig out on durians(ok in moderation i knw)! wheeee

my mom told me that durian, cold & sweet stuffs (ice cream !!) make the baby big.. if eat too much will cause obesity for the child..
even more important to eat those in moderation if it's your first child..
Durian??? you can eat but, dont't too much, just for satisfied your cravings.
for safety, better you avoid spicy, soul, deep fried, frozen, windy, coke and cold foods/drinks for early 3 months, to less gas inside your tummy which can make you feel morning sick.
My principle: Everything I can eat, but I must control, dont't eat over. think before I eat. try to eat natural foods.
