Hi, i do not like to drink milk, even fresh milk. But now ,I m preg - for my baby, i would like to try. Can i ask which brand is good for mother n baby?
But,what if i really really cannot take it, can i mixe with milo?
or how about those come with the chocolate's favour?
Pregnant can drink cold stuff? Hehe
hi, but there's caffine in coke.. which is not advised to have it during pregnancy.. but maybe moderate will do the job. lol.
what bout raw oats? does anybody know? mum wants me to eat oats but i'm thinking of eating with cold fresh milk. anyone does that?
Oats are really good for you Great with milk too. Nothing wrong with taking cold stuff, but I heard 'cooling' food/drinks best towards the end of pregnancy.
Going back to the milk thing, pregnant women only need 3 serves of dairy a day for calcium. Usually that could be a glass of milk, 40g of hard cheese and 200ml of yoghurt. If you dont't take dairy, then you can also find it in some veggies and other foods. Otherwise you can take calcium supplements
my gynae strictly adviced not to have any milk.. strange aint he? he said it leads to weight gain.. the calcium for which its suggested we drink milk, he says can be obtained from fresh fruits and veggies..
but my mom insisted i drink atleast a glass or 2 per day.. so i did..
later started taking supplement formula milk (mamil, anmum etc) instead fresh milk.. they are low in fat and high in calcium folic acid..
For the milk, try to force yourself to drink some fresh milk cos" it's helps it mummies" healthy teeth, gums, and bones. Besides calcium supplement by your gynae, extra milk helps in the growth of healthy bones & teeth for baby. Especially the development of baby"s spine !
Yogurts is nice but depends on individuals .. Some mummies get diarrhea after taking them. Veg & fruits only supply us with vitamins to boost Urs n baby immune system.
During my 1st trimester I never like any fresh milk, but now 2nd trimester I m forcing myself to drink everyday !
About weight gaining .. Haha you wont gain weight by just drinking milk. Depends on your genes .. If your mum is on the bigger size , or smaller size after delivered most probably you will take after but also the food that you eat during pregnancy .. If it's too oily or snacking can gain weight !
i dont't think it got to do with the milk, your gynae ahyo.. I have been drinking milk everyday, sometimes 2 cups. so far my weight from pre-pregnancy until now (edd is 12 nov), I gain total 8kg.. so if milk can make you gain a lot of weight, its not true..
It is best to get calcium from food sources but if you aren't able to, then take the supplements. But take them at the recommended dosage. Pregnant women only need 1000mg a day and over taking calcium can lead to bloating and constipation.
As for fat in milk, try to take reduced fat milk as full cream milk can lead to weight gain in some women. As adults it is better to take reduced fat dairy products if possible.
It is normal to gain lots of weight during pregnancy. Only excessive weight gain is a concern. 12kg is average. Best is to eat everything in moderation, especially with your cravings!! My last pregnancy I gained 18kg. I was slim 56kg before pregnancy but I gave in too much to things like creamy cakes and icecream!! Oopsies :P At least I managed to lose all but 4kg before this current pregnancy though if I had exercised I probably would have lost more.
My gynae even tell me that I can even eat pineapple rice one a week. He always telling me drink milk is good for bones to me & baby.. It's up to me if I want a healthier baby I can take more. he always remind me .. Pregnant is not a illness .. Be happy eat whatever you like!
My mum give birth to us 5 girls .. She has been drinking alot of fresh milk when she is pregg.. She doesnt gain any excess weight at all, she regain back her figure straight after birth! Not true that baby will be very fair if you drink alot of milk ... It's also the genes that baby is after.. My dad is darker & mum very fair .. 5 of us are fair like my mum .. But true that your baby will grow up with very good teeth.. We all got very healthy teeth !
Now for me.. I have start to eat alot but have not't gain any excess fats anywhere only the tummy bump only..
