I am quite worried about the detail scanning next month as my baby is quite stubbon. The first time when my gynae tried to scan the gender, the baby faced the back to us and regardless how much shaking my gynae do on my tummy, baby simply refused to turn over and even use the hand to wave it off. The 2nd visit I went a few days ago, baby slept in a weird position. A "you" shape facing left. This time wasn't able to measure the length since baby refuse to move also. Hopefully he will corporate when I go for detail scanning.
so cute, your baby "wave" off the gynae
was told that baby girls tend to be shy and hide
not to worry so much about the detail scan .... I think by 20 weeks it should be okay
All the best!
For those we have boy, is it true that you usually know the gender of your baby before the detail scan ?
Went for regular check up 3 weeks back, my gynane kept pointing 'to something on the screen' and said most likely a boy. Also heard from a friend who got a boy, that it is easier and earlier to see if it's a boy or not.
i knew my baby gender before the detailed scan coz my gynae said he check for me during the routine Ultrasound scan....he told me was a boy at my 4month checkup.
so....no excitement during the detailed scan ....kekekeke
just had my detail scanning done ytd @ Thomson Medical Center; baby is healthy & normal, as well as super hyperactive she moved xtreme fast, hands dont know scratching what & legs kip kicking...
wanted to scan 4 her facial features, but gynae said baby is not cooperative; positive not right, cant see well, next tym bah...
scanning the gender wise no prob because she's not shy @ all, lyk me
scan for feature, you mean 3d scans???
yep, that's right; 3d scan
so advanced now.....is it clear? Coloured???? Like photo?
dint manage 2 see, coz gynae said position not right anyway will visit gynae end of this month again, hope can c
Did mine today and found out that my baby is a girl!! Yeah!I'm so happy, has been hoping for a girl. She was sucking her tumb when the doc was chcking on her face....hee....
orrhs so it happens only this year prob??
i saw it during my pregnancy in 2005, on a documentary....so nice the photo like real...
thought it will be not so fast to happen in sg...good .
Most probably in 2008 but till now some clinic got to pay to have this 3D scan service and some clinic they dont't charge any extra fee for the 3D scan..
Just received call from my Gynae today that my Glucose test failed so got to go back tomorrow to test again..
1) What if my 2nd Glucose test fail again?
2) What the consequence is like?
but i do find that after giving birth my dear daughter dont really look like the 3D pic except of the sleeping position.. maybe she grown bigger so look slightly diff...
I went for the details scan @ Thomson Medical Center earlier this week. All measurement are fine, and also confirm that it's a boy. Have to pay about $137 for the scan, and this is not included in the gnyane package.
After the appt, took the result / report and went back to gynane for follow up. He further explain (slightly) the result/report and perform a 3D scann(free, within his package), but baby not cooperative, turn his head away. So got to wait till next appt to see him.
How the results are given:
140 and below are considered not gestational diabetics, anything above this reading will usually be sent for further testing.
There are no risks involved in testing. This is a fairly non-invasive test requiring only blood from the mother. Some women are concerned, rightfully, about the effects on a bolus of glucose to a baby who has not been used to receiving it is such quantities.
here do you go from here? If you "fail" the one hour test you will be asked to take the three hours glucose test. You will have your blood drawn, be asked to drink or eat something with sugar and will be tested at 30 minutes, one hour, two hours, and three hours. You must pass in three of these tests to "pass" the entire test.
If you "fail" the three hour test you will more than likely be sent to a nutritionist to learn ways that you can control your glucose levels through diet. You will also have a plan for monitoring blood sugar levels to assess your progress.
I also just had my glucose test last saturday.
torture....cannot even drink plain water for 9 hours...mine was at Kandang Kerbau Hospital and that was the instruction ! total fasting.
anyways, i received a call from a nurse to say that my test results was dont know what number above normal so my gynae wanted her to call me
to make me attend this one day course
so when i asked what is it about...she said the course will teach me how to better take care of myself
i know that we have to control our glucose intake...including watching out for carboh......but is the one day course really gonna help?
honestly, i do crave for chocs and fruit juices... sigh
What my gynae told me is our glucose test cannot be above 7.8 and mine is 8.3 so means slightly higher, no choice got to go for 2nd test which take me 2 hours and 2 jab, 1 jab before drinking the sweet drink another jab is 2 hours later..
