I'm into my 17th week and went for gynae check today. I've gained 3.5 kg in a month, from my last visit when I was 12 weeks! So far have gained 6.5kg till now. I was quite worried that I've gained too much. Actually I dont't think I've eaten alot for past one month. I dont't eat unhealthy food except for occasional chocolates but I do increase my food intake cos I love my carbs and protein. Hee.. I think I dont't seen to grow fat alot except for my tummy which already appears very obvious at 16 weeks. Is this something I should worry?y hubby says I should be happy I'm gaining more than gaining too little than worry. Haha I hope baby is really absorbing all the nutrients I take in.

But that's how I eat and I dont't know where the weight goes to! Lol
I dont't think at this stage, the weight is on the baby. Maybe I've eaten too much unknowingly s I wanted my baby to have more nutrition.
On the contrary, I hardly gain any weight now I am 17 weeks too! So your hubby is right... you should be happy
Maybe I eat like 30-40% more than my pre-preg. But still not tipping the scale. I feel full after a meal (or meal and a half ) but after a while, I feel it got digested very quickly. An experienced dad friend told me I shouldnt worry too much as usually at 5th month onwards, it's hard to slow down the gain!
I think I am still not gaining back the weight I've lost during first trim............. now at wk 21 and I am still puking big bags of food n water...... Arghh I really dont know how siah
different pregnancy is different. So far I gained 8kg..hehe.. dont know should be happy or not cos gaining too much is no good. Didbt purposely eat alot but try to eat what's good for baby..
As long as baby is fine and putting on weight i think that's alright.

dont't worry if you're gaining too much. Because for me since my 3 need month on wards I gained 4 kg each month ! Now im 7 months and gained around 18 kg ! As long as baby growing fine and baby is gaining its okay. Wait until birth then you worry ! Hahaha. It's better than we lose weight !
Haizzzzzzzz until now I have lost 5kg..... I think I have tried all sort of ways to stop puking but no use ..... Sianz
MamaDT: I'm 21 weeks already and at week 20 I started feeling some light tapping but it dont't happen everyday .. Especially on weekdays when I'm always busy working. Sometimes I felt something moving in my tummy or a tight feeling at different parts of my tummy but I'm not sure is it baby or not. Haha..
Heard some feel as early as 18 weeks.. I thought baby movement suppose to get stronger? Why mine not getting stronger? I'm looking forward to feel those strong kicks that ppl mention..

Oh ya about your weight loss, it's fine since your baby is growing.. That's a good thing cos you r losing weight., jia you.. Try to eat healthy food like meat vege.. Spinach etc.. If not enough take supplements.. I'm sure your gynae have advised you..
Heehee Cherryblossom I've mentioned some ways for you to try in your the other forum "sleeping position" on baby kicking hahahha but i think I didn't elaborate more on my experience so here it is :
I felt the bubble popping in my tummy below belly button around 18weeks.... Haha sometimes it's quite ticklish...... When I put my hand on it, I can feel that my tummy "popped up" one sec as if sthg pushed my tummy from inside. This feeling got stronger and more frequent day by day. Now I am at wk21 and I cfm that the feeling is my baby kicking on one side and baby turning on the other side of my tummy coz I asked the radiographer if baby's kicking and turning when I had the same usual "bubble pop" feeling during my detailed scan.
Hmmm try singing/talking to your prince when you are lying down... It takes time for him to kick you... Hahha
Yah I vomited my supplements as well, and alot of water... Have been taking alot nutritious food (fish, egg, veg, fruits) to replenish back but still alamak vomit out.... Makes me feel sick haizxxxx
MamaDT: even during scanning the radiographer told me see baby kicking can feel or not I say no .. Hee., I guess my tummy too fat to feel so strongly . Hee .. ok I will try that out!
Ya i guess best is for you to replenish after you vomit out.. With those nutritious food. Jia you! You ate a strong mummy!

Hi mamaDT, thanks for asking! Yes I started feeling the kicks which are getting more obvious.. few days ago i tend to like one day have the next day dont't have until I tried to feel very hard at night cos day time busy working. These two days weekend can feel more again.. Is this normal?
Are you getting better in your nauseous symptom?
I gained almost 30kg throughout my whole pregnancy and after 8 months I'm slim like before but not as skinny as before (: no worries one !
Another thing to add is dont worry if your tummy becomes very big because my tummy is very very big and when my son came out he was only 3kg exactly. My Gynae also said my tummy is big but baby is small. Haha!
Wah 30kg! Actually I'm quite worried cos i already gained 8kg in my week 20.. Though I didn't really eat alot than before.. And now at 23 weeks, my tummy is considered quite big..
Wonder what causes tummy to be big.. Lol
Haha! I'm 24 weeks and total weight gained is 4.5Kgs so far; before Preg i was 58kg and today i'm 62.5Kg. Last went to check was on Friday..
Aiyoh at least you all weight gained..... Haizxxxx I am slowly recovering back my 6kg loss in trim 1. As of week 20, I only regained 1kg from the loss and that 1kg is co-share with my baby's weight. Hmmm hmmm I hope to gain more!
Cherry Blossom, my puking is still bad... Still got not much appetite to eat lately... Constipation some more.... Wah I think I really gana all pregnant symptoms from the book man... =(

Some of my friends say if you feel the "kick" is like got interval between few seconds, that could be baby's hiccup. Hohoho which I can't really identify mine is hiccup or kick. Haha I just assume that if I feel it on my left side, then that's kick, if I feel it on right side with intervals, that should b hiccup hahaha
Also, sometimes mine quite light kicks, my Hubby said it is normal coz baby got no space to kick, hence may be trying to turn inside there hahaha

Haha I felt intervals too! Maybe that's hiccups! I looking forward to the strong regular kicks that others mentioned.. Haha.. I talk to baby every night when I apply the stretch mark cream.. And sometimes on YouTube to let baby listen or sing the nursery songs together.. I believe baby can hear by now..
As long as your baby is growing that fine.. You got to eat well as much as you can and during confinement cos baby have taken your nutrients.. Are you delivering at Thomson Medical Center? You bought your things already?

have not't really bought.... Haha got some passed down baby clothes and also bought two newborn baby clothes. That's all.. I did do window shop to see see look look but hadn't buy... Haha you?
I am 15 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. I feel that gaining weight should be progressive and not to be a main concern unless we get pre-eclampsia (high blood pressure) or gestational diabetes. Otherwise, we try not to gain too much weight as i feel that it might induce health problems not just during pregnancy but also after, if we gained too much and can't lose it.
My first pregnancy I gained 13kg up till the date of delivery when they weigh me.
From my personal experience and fitness background knowledge would be for us to have a balance diet throughout pregnancy and also physical activity or exercise program. Though sometimes we binge eat unhealthy food and we tend to be more lazy or tired than usual for exercise. I feel that weight gain for us should be between 10kg - 16kg.
