My wife complain tummy a bit itchy and dry and she is also worried about stretchmarks.
- What are the mommies here applyin on their tummies at this stage?
- What is safe, what is not?
- What works and what does not?
I also used Clarins Stretchmark control, so far so good!!
I using Palmer's oil. But still have the itchness around my tummy...
below are some recommaned brand you can try Palmer Cocoa butter or
Mentholatum brand ( I used this, you can check @ Guardian's Phermacy (cost about lesser than $10 during my time). I started using it when I was 16 weeks frankly speaklyi dont't have stretch mark after my C-Sect delivery.

I used Palmers Cocoa Butter cream n i didn't get any stretch marks. It's safe - chked with the gynae before using.
I was at Robinsons during lunch and spoke to the Clarins sales lady. I told her my wife is into 2nd tri and she recommended:
Both are safe (and effective) for use during pregnancy. She says Clarins is very popular among MTBs.
- Clarins Stretch Mark Control (200ml) for day use (CLARINS BEAUTY PRODUCT - Stretch Mark Control (Body, Firming) care and beauty products) &
- Clarins Huile "Tonic" body treatment oil (100ml) for night use(CLARINS BEAUTY PRODUCT - Tonic Body Treatment Oil(Body, Tone) care and beauty products)
Robinsons selling $80 each. May try to see if my regular toiletries shop can order for me at lower price...
Have you mommies use the same product before and can testify effectiveness?
Last week i saw SASA selling the Clarins Stretchmark Control (200ml) for $68....maybe you could try to see Swaston in Chinatown, heard that they also sell cheaper but not sure how much....
So far i find quite satisfactory as i have no itch (i have sensitive skins) & can feel the cream is being absorbed into the skin. I have only start using for 2 weeks so still cannot tell its effectiveness.
Was at Guardian and the promotor tried to sell me another brand:
Galenic Elancyl Specific Vergetures - Stretch mark preventive and reducing cream (150ml).
It is a green box, now on promo: 2 for $47.30
Anyone used this brand? I told like never heard before this ulu brand then she say all her daughters and daughter-in-laws use very good.
Huh ~~~ ???? got such thing meh..... when I used that brand is like normal lotion apply that's all. Ok tell you what, I will try to make a trip to check for you the actual type i bought & revert back to you soon.
I'm very health conscious.
I used organic olive oil and organic jojoba oil.
Confirm will not harm foetus and very good, cos i dont have any stretchmarks at the places i applied
I bought it online. You can get it in SG but I think it's more expensive. You can try organic stores
I'm a lazy person, I only applied once a day I apply at night after I shower, before I sleep. I think it's not messy to apply before go to work, but the problem for me is that I always sleep late and wake up gotta rush to work, no time to apply. hee!
Is it called "Happy Event" by Mentholatum (sounds like some lubricant)
see the link for the picture:
i just went to Guardian, the lady told me mentholatum has no stretch mark or toning cream.
the brands they carry that have such creams are: Palmer, Vichy and Galenic.
looks like i may give my wife try Galenic. stock for Clarins is still pending over my side..
but my wife says expensive doesn't always mean effective.
Body and Belly Cream , it is said to relieve 'pregnancy itching', available at A firstname.lastname@example.org E-commerce Site
Little dreamers is a online store that carrys products/remedies for pregnancy, delivery and postpartum. I will most likely buy their Warming Shampoo & body wash for Confinement later hehe
Kohym, you are right. Not neccessary expensive means effective. My colleague did not apply the cream and has no stretch marks, so envious
Managed to beat Robinsons at a good price. so proud
Thanks all replies, tonight will try it out on my wife
The shopowner told me no need apply in the day. At nite after bathe, apply the oil first then after it is absorbed by the skin, apply the cream. No greasiness so can zzz after that...
