it can range from2.4kg to 4kg for term babies(37-40weeks). anything below 2.4kg is abit light and over 4kg is big babies. but all can be normal and healthy. even for premees, as long as discharge weight is above 2kg. they are consider pretty good already. my baby girl was 3.3 kg @ 40+3.
I delivered my 1st girl at 39wks 2days weighing 3.47kg and my boy at 40weeks 5days and he weighs 3.465kg.

Oh, so doc is estimate our baby weight when inside our tummy one ?
my prince weigh 3.74kg at 39wk3days. my gynae had estimated his weight to be around 3.2kg at 39wks based on head circumference (i tink). not sure how dat is related to da baby weight thou.
When inside your tummy.. Doc will measure e waist of e baby then machine itself will give a estimation based on that..
Everything is based on estimation but usually not much different.. Different also a bit only
my baby girl is around 3kg already on my week 36. i'm afraid she's too big for me to go for natural birth...as i wanted to avoid epidural as well. mommies with big babies, do you guys go for c-sec?
