I had a c section due to big baby. I opted for epidural so that i can stay awake during operation and recover faster. i reached hospital at 5plus am. nurse came and shave me, inserted a liquid to nurse my bowels and asked me to change into the operation gown) . I rested on bed till about 7.30am then was transferred to a bed trolley and to the operation room. Was rather scared initially but i told myself to stay relaxed and accept whatever maycome. Surprising it wasnt that painful when epidural was adminstered , just that i was made to curl
Into a ball to have the injection. just a normal injection dull pain but last longer. immediately after the catheter was inserted and i was rather scared of the pain.. To my suprise, i felt no pain, just the movt of somethig inserted into me. Doc checked if i feel pain. I dont , just a weird feeling of numbnesss haaa.. A green cloth with a stand was placed in front of me. Dr Benjamin Tham chatted with me while he cut below the bikini line layer by layer.. I felt movement but no pain at all.. So i feel more relaxed and trust dr tham to do the operation.. hubby came in before baby was carried out. Nurses helped to push my stomach for baby to come out. within mins i heard a wailing sound and my baby was born! all within one hr! entire operation felt great! Doesnt seem to be a major operation ! Only side effect was numbness in my legs which went off after a couple of hours when epidural wears off. And i felt dizzy and vomitted a few times and no appetite till 3 plus cos of the drip .got better when i was given medicine. Was so happy when my drip and catherer were removed the next morning ! Finally can get out of bed to walk !
