fyi, bbs cry when they are very young, for many reasons: cold, tired, hungry, uncomfortable, nappies wet, bored etc.
it doesn't mean that everytime they cry, they are hungry. Also if you are going to have a confinement nanny, she will most prob ask you to give formula milk cos that will make the bbs sleep longer (fm doesn't digest as well as breast milk), and will give her less work.
dont't worry so much about the amt of milk the baby drinks as long as baby is happy, wetting at least 5 nappies and is putting on weight well. pumps dont't express our milk as effectively as baby does, so when you pump, you may get very little, but when baby suckles, he can get a lot more.
first few weeks, baby may want to keep drinking around the clock. but both of you should fall into a comfortable rhythm once baby is older.
When she knew i had engorgement, she changed tack and say that i shouldn't bf cos i would spread my germs, fever etc to my baby.
when i refused to listen, she force fed my baby 150ml of breast milk in 3 hours when dear daughter was only 5 days old!!! Cos she said that dear daughter was hungry when that stupid woman couldn't pacifiy her!!!
needless to say, i threw her out after 6 days!
she must be crazy to have asked you to feed baby 150ml of milk.... crazy !!! (MAD) common sense will also tell that that's too much. Even being stupid, fm the milk can did stated max intake for baby at that age range should not be more than 60ml every 2 hours.
redjn, it was 150 ml of breast milk, but still... and that stupid woman can still wonder why my dear daughter was screaming!!!
she force fed dear daughter when i was sleeping or i would have stopped that brainless cow!!!
bargainhunter, yup, totally didn't regret throwing her out! Just didn't feel that she deserved the extra day's pay that my mum paid her!!!
yeah, still very angry with that woman, so will take any opportunity to complain about her!!! hahahaha
OIC, haha so silly of me thinking that it was formula milk you fed you baby.... btw was she an experience CL? who recommanded her to you? think you Should react to that person. I really wonder how she take care of other bbs? I sincerely hope no more unlucky mummies will employ her....
She's not that bad if you dont't bf, but she really can complain a lot! Imagine being in a house with someone who keeps whining to you when you're in pain!
Oh my engaged CL was also the same i kan cheong didn't know & hubby went buy formula in the end use only once & now the tin is still lying around in the kitchen. Went to a LC to relieve my engorged breasts.
1st day back home, daughter woke every hour & being experienced CL she dont't even know how to check the signs of crying & it was our 1st-time as parents, much better than her. Kept saying she was hungry but sometimes it was she shitted/need to pacify. Once i supervise her feeding & also force feed my girl kept looking at the bottle "oh she has not even reach xml" while my daughter was screaming away. This was the final straw, threw her out i think 6 days while she did not expect it as none of us gave any indication. TOO BAD.

Mind telling me the name of your CL?I heard horrible stories about many CLs who claimed that they are very experience but in the end when dealing with babies faced alot of endless prob like not knowing how to feed baby, lazy, unhygeneic..etc..
I have found one CL and is engaging her service in Jan 2010... Hope it is not the same CL although she is thru my friend's referal...
Hope to hear fr you soon! =)
