Foot Massage?

Hi,

May I know anyone do or go for foot massage or therpy machine during pregnancy?

i went to kenko for foot reflexology often during my pregnancy. just inform the staff that you are pregnant and they will assign an appropriate therapist for you. I like Fan from the Kenko branch at Marina Level 2 (fish spa opposite Ritz Carlton).

i dont dare to go for foot massage or any machine therapy since pregnant.... even during pedicure, i will remind them that i m pregnant and not to have any massage coz i heard it will trigger contractions....

when i was 3 month preggie , i went foot massage with hubby , tha time i only know cannot massage body , they told me foot also cannot massage ~~

there was once.. i walk pass a sales person of a particular massage machine, she's kind of promoting those hand held massager.. then she ask 'wanna try?' and lay the machine on my 'love handles' area.. i am like......................................

I'm in last trimester and getting heavy. Just walk or stand too long and bottom of leg few very painful. Is like really need some massage. but dare not...

hubby? or maybe soak your legs in pail of warm water, add some ginger?

well is best not to do foot massage.. leg still not so bad.. get your dear husband to do it ( a mild 1 )

and when you sit down lift your leg up to rest.. reduce stress & water retention

i did foot massage when pregnant until 34th week.i even did head ,back and shoulder massage too! Just sit on a normal chair instead of that special chair

Every other part of the body is fine except tummy and foot. These two areas should ONLY be massaged by a professional. But some professionals still dare not take the risk massaging a pregnant lady.

My hubby gave me foot massages since I was pregnant. We thought if we found out on the net which parts of the feet he shdn't massage then I'd be safe. Its really heavenly to get my feet massaged every night especially when we've been walking around with a big tummy all day. I remember the bigger I get the more the sides of my tummy started to feel peculiar. Everytime I walk a few minutes, I have to stop and breathe deeply as I felt a tightening around my womb. I always thought it was the baby turning. Then during my 35th week I went to see my gynae for normal check up. She put me on ctg for the first time and we found out I was having regular contractions already.

Hubby now dare not touch my feet. No more heavenly massages.

I did get foot massage during my pregnancy. But the therapist only willing to massage for me when I'm in my 35th week onwards. & it's a gentle massage, not my usual foot reflexology. & they got an old man to do the massage (I had to wait 4 hours despite booking an appt!).

Machines wise total avoid. Even when I go facial, my beautician never use any machines on my face. She even asked me to bring my own organic products to use as she was worried her salon products not suitable for preggies.

can massage.. but not ankle... but only light massage.. n also do not use machine for anthing.. even facial...

are the therapies certified... some beauty saloon any how .. have to becareful.. cos i workin beauty line before.. they may want you to finish your pkg to upgrade you again ask you buy course or other reason...

i did foot reflexology too but of course did inform them i'm preggy so they didn't massage too 'hard'. they said if we've been doing it regularly/frequently and nothing happen it should be fine. i feel that the massage gives me a great relieve to tired feet and helps to sleep better.

I was dying to get my feet massaged during pregnancy.Hubby wld massage every nite but i thought go shop n do better.But everytime i walk into the shop(about 35 weeks onwards preggers),they all say cannot coz i pregnant.I say no need press so hard can already but they didnt.$^%&*^!!If foot massages can induce labour so easily there wld be long queue outside massage shops.Cheaper induction like tht..super!!
I was so upset coz my feet hurt so bad during whole pregnancy.

well just an advice becos they r may not be certified, whether hard or not our feet have alot nerves..

It's best not to go for foot massage even it's done by professional coz my husband is ex boss of a foot reflex but they dont't take in preggy mothers even when all our therapists are certified..coz you will never know what will happen...it's better to be safe than sorry...

Instead like some who have mentioned here, try to soak your feet in warm water and after soaking, ask your hubby to massage your calf and to massage light on your foot and also your hubby could hold your foot with both hand and add pressure (you could tell him if the pressure is ok or not) this will really relax you..coz even I'm not preggy yet but I do understand the feeling when your foot is feeling so much in need of foot massage coz I had this feeling once when I was in bkk shopping non-stop and my foot is killing me and I really felt like dying..wahaha..so when the therapist hold my feet to massage, I suddenly felt so shiok...but then Thai massage is not my cuppa tea as I'm already so used to doing foot reflexology where the pressure they used is much stronger than thai massage...

i tink the calf or thigh still ok .. if feet i wont .. Base on Thomson Medical Center ( chiese medical ) alot nerves connected to vital areas at feet there also have alot ...

Hi apple_san, try soaking in warm water and ask your husband to rub rub and light pressure massage your foot...you might feel better when someone rub your feet ..

try go for pre natal massage instead. they are professionals but charges abit on the high side
