i am already 35 weeks pregnant, and my colleague told me that Kandang Kerbau Hospital is full of tests becos they are very careful... so for the hassle, i dont mind...
but my colleague said she chose NUH, cos they do less test...is that really better?
anyways, to share my experience.
first appointment , 9 weeks preg, the usual blood test for HIV, thalas, hubby got blood test also
then had the very first scan for baby ----- everything at clinic C
nurse kept "pushing" for the downs test, but i didnt want it
second appointment, i was about 16 weeks, the doc on duty was a very young MO ... asked me how i am, so i told her i felt some irregular muscle contractions around abs...which i thought was normal, cos experienced mommies and some websites did say that the womb was stretching to make space. but MO ordered for urine test..for infection...then she did some kind of probe which was painful (still think its unnecessary) ...
then i requested for a scan..cos i wanted to see my growing baby...so this was extra on my own request -------- everything at clinic C
third appointment , 20 weeks. went ADC for detail scan of baby... elated to find out his sex then went for my very first visit at The Private Suite... Dr ML Yeap
had a general discussion about what to expect, dos and donts , and asked for a document for travel
forth appointment , 26 weeks. followup after travel, scan in the room, nothing much, everything seems like a rush cos gynae was bz that day... but she ordered for a Gestational Diabetes Test
28 weeks, did not see gynae, but just went for blood test... within days, Kandang Kerbau Hospital called to say that i am diabetic...
30 weeks preg, met my gynae...she insisted that i must go for the gest.diabetes "course"... had another scan in her room, took vitamins, nothing much
31 weeks preg, went for one day course at Kandang Kerbau Hospital...dietician told me what to avoid eating etc... cost me 300 bucks, but deducted thru CPF.
33 weeks, rushed to Kandang Kerbau Hospital as i got slight brown spotting... was admitted. so they ran tests, did scan, had jab... sigh
35 weeks, met gynae for review ...said all is fine. baby is safe to deliver if he decides to see the world earlier....THE VERY NEXT DAY..signs of labour...but false alarm again
right now, sitting at home typing all these....hahha
sorry, long story ~ but i hope my experience can help those who are interested.
hope you guys have a less "hassle" experience.
