Hi all mummy in Kandang Kerbau Hospital... i wanna ask... for my case is i'm a Clinic B or D Patient... sorry i have forgotten.. then after my detail check up.. they actually ask me to go TPS to see my doctor... may i know will i be going to TPS untill i give birth? cause i think TPS chargers is more ex.. any mummy in Kandang Kerbau Hospital can help me??
yup i'm sticking to 1 doctor... i dont't have any refer letter from any polyclinic.. i just walk in to Kandang Kerbau Hospital & requested this doctor.. cause my friend intro this doctor to me.. so no refer letter is it consider no subsidise? they suddenly transfer me to TPS after my detail check... so i also confuse...
i think you are consider private patient almost the same rate as outside doctor... cos i am also same situation as you. at first at clinic A seeing Dr wee Horng Yen then now at TPS
you're a private patient cos you seeing the same doctor for every check up. but so far for me wherever i go (AMK and B clinic) i'm charged the same amount although B clinic are for subsidised patient and got no untrasound scanning.
you might wanna check with either one or both of the clinic as to y you r transfered to TPS??
It's not much different, price-wise. TPS waiting time is way shorter. And if I'm not wrong, service is better during your delivery. For my 1st child, when we went to clinic A for the 1st half of the pregnancy, it sometimes took up to 5 hours in waiting time. (Go 1 place wait 1 hr plus to scan, then go see doc; doc go deliver baby so wait 3hr then see him, then go get med got to wait again.) Go TPS sometimes less than 1hr done . Scan, see doc, take med all in 1 place. Unless you so lucky, doc must go deliver baby, then can't help it . If you take into account the cost of the parking, it's about the same, really.
Yup i think i will go ask them y m i suddenly transfer to TPS... cause when i was transfer i was not inform also.. cause i also dont't know will the price be reali different... if very different i will have to see if till birth how much extra i'm paying.. cause now suddenly not working... a bit lost.. due to some problem @ work...
I'm seeing both clinic A & TPS, also think pricing wise not much different...but i'm not sure medicines from clinic A cheaper or not cos i took my medicines from TPS only....for routine test like blood pressure/urine test is same for both.
Hope everything working well for you...
I was also a walk in patient at Kandang Kerbau Hospital. I also requested to see one doctor throughout. But I was at the Clinic B throughout even though I booked the top delivery suit and room. (My gynea told me that previously you had to be a TPS patient in order to book the top delivery suit but luckily fo rme, they changed that ruling) I'm sure you can request to be in Clinic B.
While I had to go to different place for scan and routine test, it was not very far and I never waited more than an hour for everything.
I did go to the TPS for one visit after my delivery and the charges was $10 more andyou get nice comfy chair and coffee. Did not like the routine test part as I had to carry the urine stick all the way from the toilet to the doctor's room. YUKS. Waiting time was about the same as Clinic B.
but if you are seeing doc at TPS, it means you need to take the premium hospitalisation package (as opposed to the classic). can't recall the difference but the good thing is your doc will be the one managing your labour, not the registrar on duty.
you're considered a private patient because you went direct to Kandang Kerbau Hospital, and was not referred from any polyclinic.
I'm at clinic c, subsidised patient, referred from a polyclinic. i see different gynaes each time, and waiting hours can be long. plus, scans have to be done in another area, so there's waiting time there as well.
while the waiting time is long, i think it's quite alright. i usually opt for a really early appointment, or a late appointment. i avoid the peak period of mid-morning onwards. so the waiting time is not bad. plus, i make sure i always have a book or my nintendo with me, so i can kill time. advantage i think is the price. doctor's consultation is $23 each time, even if I go to the 24-hour clinic after hours. my 5 month detailed scan cost about $40.
