Nope.. just go guardian pharmacy to buy
you can get folic acid from any pharmacy. It's like vitamins, no need prescription. Dosage should be 5mg.
Thompson clinic can check for you and scann you and be your gynae too
Went for a check up at polyclinic.. Positive. Got a referral letter to Kandang Kerbau Hospital, but appointment on 15 march. Any idea how much will the first check up/scanning and stuff costs ??
hmmm.. Dont mind are you in your 3-4 months now?
Not sure if different months will check different things on first appointment.
Since you r referred, you r automatically subsidized patient. However, on your first visit registration, you will be informed and asked whether you wanna go for subsidized care.
Usually 1st consult shld include:
- cost of consult
- routine test
- you/s study
- blood test
Costing $100+for subsidized. Excluding supplements.
Private im not sure.
TPS depends on the gynae you fix can be high $200++
In your case, depending on whether you do optional down syndrome test on 1st visit (dependin on weeks of preg, single
or multiple preg, price also diff)
Subsidized i think high $100+
Private about 2X of that.. I think.. Haha..
Rate as per nov 2012.. Disclaimer: any changes in prices since then, dont hold me responsible! haha!!
Hope this helps.. Haha.. enjoy your pregnancy!!
Subsidized might have medical students around during consult..
Tps visit gt scans in consult room available and will do scan (and can know weight of baby! but i just got very excited over that so i know at least how the baby is growing.. haha!) every visit i think.. Subsidized only do scans on certain weeks of pregnancy.
Another thing is i was told subsidized cannot choose A1 ward by counter staff.. Not sure how true..
Service wise very different? But i think that's subjective..
dont know what else at the moment..
Longing for a nice and relaxing holiday but concerned about the travel risks?
There will be a 2 day 1 night retreat for mummies at our center. We will have practicing nurse/midwife from the top hospital in Singapore to brief mummies on antenatal knowledge during this retreat. Mummies can come together for some sharing, relaxation and peer support. Meals will be specially prepared for all pregnant mummies and it will be a good time to come relax, rejuvenate and enjoy your 'me-time' before your little bundle of joy arrives. Feel free to contact me if you need more information!
tomorrow is the check up!! Haha and I'm super excited. Can't wait to see my baby tomorrow ~
Hoho... How many weeks are you at now?
@ pearlynC : my check up also tomorrow lol
You mentioned you are 21? That's very young, normally at such young age, one would not be financially capable to pay for private. However, if you are an exception and can pay for private rates then by all means go for it. Just to keep you prepared, delivery in hospitals such as mount E can go up as high as above 10k. Gleneagles is always about 2k higher than mt E for most of the rates. dont't forget you have to visit almost every month, and private consultation cost above $200 most of the time. Furthermore, if you need to take Oscar test and do blood test screening, it might cost you about $400.
you may take a look at the sub-forum topic Singapore obstetricians and gynaecologists and you will find a lot of info on different gynaes experience written by fellow mummies here.
folic acid, 5mg is a supplement, it is not a drug that needs prescription. Can buy off shelf.
it is eaten ESP in first trimester to prevent nervous system defects.
Hope that helps.
Am 18.7 weeks as of today! Haha
Anyway I just wanna ask, cus I currently having my check ups at Kandang Kerbau Hospital.. Is it possible for me to switch to mt.e hospital? I wanna deliver there, cause I was born there and my mum wants me to go to her gynae.
