Recently just after i enter third trimester i cannot sleep well. My shoulders and neck ache as the result. I wonder if it is okay to go for massages only at shoulders and neck.
Cuz i heard otherwise but am not sure. Any mummies done massages at third tri?
i having body massages n foot reflexology from my mom since my 1st pregnancy n now in 2nd pregnancy 3rd trimester..been doing thru out my pregnancy as i often have bad blood circulation problems n body ache every now n then..
the massages help..but sadly will only last mayb a week at most..
foot reflex is okay? i heard some nerves on the sole leading to the uterus/reproductive system may be pressed and may affect the baby growth.
my mom doesnt allow me to do any form of massage at all. in fact i went to one massage palour at my place and told them i was 7 months preggers, they dont wanna do at all! =( but i miss them sooo much! even one week of relief is good for me!
You can try my massage lady. She's very good. She can tell if baby's position is good all. She help me with my backaches n leg cramps. She even told me I'll deliver before my scheduled ceaser. Wic turned out to be true.
My mom is a foot reflexologist who knows how to do body massage too.. She told me only some spots cannot be pressed during pregnancy..n she dont apply much force when massaging for me,often ask me if pain must tell her.. Shoulder n neck massage is ok,as long as you dont feel painful,if pain, must tell the person..some massage parlors dont dare do for preg ladies, but you can try shoulder/neck massage or leg massage..
I asked my gynae about massages (I am a sucker for massages!!) and she said it is OK as long as it makes me happy and as long as dont massage the stomach area...
I also find that foot reflexology really does help abit to reduce the water retention..
I went to this massage palour - Solo Javanese Traditional Massage at Arab Street. They provide pre natal massages. This malay auntie I had was very nice and motherly. She helped me to my sides, cushioned my tummy, massaged slowly from the legs, up to the back, then shoulders. Esp my aching shoulders.
They use Javanese rubbing style, instead of chinese joint cracking style. After that she touched my tummy to tell me which position my baby was at, where the head was etc. Haha. She also taught me how to massage my breasts and how to clear blocked milk ducts.
It was 60sgd for 1 hour, which I think is very reasonable price. So satisfied that I think I want her to do post natal massages for me after I give birth. =)
Ya she comes to our place. 50 dollars flat. Post natal she charges 55 dollars. I think I'm going to call her for a normal massage. Feeling tired. Hehe.
