dont panic! no matter what, ask your gynae 1st! in the meantime, stop the oil... lik what chiro mummy said, since it's applied on the skin, the percentage that will harm your baby will not be so high..

when i was around 26-27 week preg, i took the wrong medi!!! and when i check online, it's NOT supposed to be consume by preg woman!! To make thing worse, I took double dose at once! I panic like a crazy woman scolding my hubby... But when I asked my gynae, she said, ya the medi is really NOT suppose to be consume by preg woman by she assured me everything will be okay, and now my dear son is alrdy 2mth old...

PLEASE call up your gynae and seek for his/her advice instead of worrying at home.. =)

Re: panic!tea tree oil not for pregnant woman?

    Info from http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/patient-teatreeoil.html:
    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Not enough scientific information is available to recommend tea tree oil during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Animal studies suggest caution in the use of tea tree oil during childbirth because tea tree oil has been reported to decrease the force of spontaneous contractions, which theoretically could put the baby and mother at risk. Women who are breastfeeding should not apply tea tree oil to the breast or nipple since it may be absorbed by the infant.

dont't panic. However, during my pregnancy, I always used organic products so that even if it's not recommended for use during pregnancy, at least I know there's no harmful chemicals.

Btw, I also used tea tree oil based face wash & pimple cream (both organic) during my pregnancy. No problems with my son who is already 2.5yo
Empty vessels make the most noise

i didn't know that tea tree oil products can't be used. however i've been using body shop tea tree face wash for my acnes too. i read in my pregnancy book only strong chemicals like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid not recommended for pregnant woman.

It only suggests not to use DURING childbirth as it affected contractions. If you are pregnany & not due yet, you definitely dunnid to worry about this

I also kept scold my hubby when i took wrong medi, cause he pass the wrong medi to me mah haha...

If you're very worried, actually you can call up your gynae. That's what my hubby did. in the middle of night somemore. Just to clear your doubt, if not, you'll keep thinking about it...

frankly, i didnt really use any products for face during preg, only stick to Clinique. I dont't know if there's any harmful or unsuitable chemical inside though. Anw, I was so lazy to even care about my skin during preg. Too tired alrdy...

Re: panic!tea tree oil not for pregnant woman?

My gynae gave use his personal number on our first visit at our request.

Anyway, I used organic products during my pregnancy. Turns out it's more affordable than the previous products I was using so I decided to make a permanent switch

If you have alot of acne, I would recommend this brand called Desert Essence. They have a herbal face wash which is very good for acne. But it has tea tree oil I think. You can get it from Suntec (Level 1 just outside Carrefour). Or buy online Buying online is cheaper
