Weight gain during pregnancy

Hello ladies

Am curious, how much weight gain is normal during pregnancy? I'm in my 7th week and this is my first, hence I'm clueless about tons of things.

I started at 55kg and now I'm already tipping at 57.9kg. Is that normal? Kindda worried I will gain too much weight.

Hmmm.. I nw 32 wks weigh 73kg.. hehehe...

B4 preggie I hv the same weight as u..55kg... when i 2mths preggie, i weigh 56.5kg... Don worry abt gaining too much weight, if anything wrg, doc will tell u to diet... Juz ate moderately & healthily..

HI. I understand from my gynae that we should not put on more than 2kg per month. 0.5kg per week is ideal.

The total weight gain for whole pregnancy should be around 10 to 12 kg. Most of the weight gain should be in second and especially third trimesters, cause that's when the baby really grow in size!

Weight gain in first trimester, by right, should be minimal. But of course depends on yourself lah .... I have to eat all the time during first trimester to stop the nauseous feeling. So for my second preggy, I gained 2kg during first trimester. Now for my 3rd preggy, pile on 3kg already :P

Gained 2 to 3kg in first trimester. But whole preggy - about 12kg la.

Weight gain is also my major concern during pregnancy! hehe I have already put on 3kg....few more days to the end of my first trimester... had aimed to put on 2kg max...but looking at the amt of food I eat...it's not going to be easy

I put on 20kg for my first pregnancy...took me one year + to lose 19kg...hope to put on less weight for this 2nd pregnancy... the thought of having to start slimming all over again after pregnancy really makes me sad

Ideally should be between 10 to 12 kg throughout the whole pregnancy.

weight gain is normal as seen that from our neighbours,
she got second child recently.

depending on yr starting weight - I was abt 71kg before pregnant. Doc told me hopefully truout can only gain abt 10kg the most. The highest I peaked was abt 32wks at 76.6kg.
After that I start loosing..but bb gaining.. so no worries on that part!
Now almost 2.5mths after giving birth - 64kg - bb only had fm when in hosp and upon returning home had 8 btls wic i got fm hosp and 1 time from the can of formula hubby bought for stdby. Full bm after that till now!

woo22, u gained really little weight

envy... hehe went for my checkup today. Baby coming to 17 weeks...had gained a total of 6kg!! haha... need to work very hard after pregnancy...

hee hee .. no dieting tru out except at 34wks when diagnosed GD..watch diet and smaller portions but more times.. guess jus lucky lor .. dd 3.95kg at birth!
BF helps to loose the kilos fast..my doc was laughing dat i dun hv to worry..by the time i left OT i was lighter than the 1st time she saw me!
wt gain is ok .. as long as both mummy n bb in gd health! dont diet cos u dun wan to deprive bb of nutrients!

I watched a documentary some weeks ago, doc found put that women who put on not more then 11.3kg for whole prenancy tends to slim back to figure easier. And when they grow old lesser rate of growing obese. They also mention eating double portion for preggy women is a wrong concept. Preggy women only need addition 350 calories then normal portion.

For those to put on more than 20kg, after birth will be 10kg more than b4 preggy weight. Haha i tink thats wat happen to me.. So this time i m not putting up so much. Not becos i control is just that i cant seems to put on.. B4 preggy : 58kg Now 33 wk: 67.6 bad news is bad not putting on weight. Really no appetite for food. I have to rely on milk and durians to make sure BB put on weight..

b4 preggy : abt 48kg.
during preggy : abt 65kg
aft preggy (5+mths alr) : 50-51kg.

i think fixed alr. so far figure back to normal. except my tummy. last time flat tummy. now got a small bump. trying to get rid of that but doesnt seem to work.

i gain 27kg!! was 82kg when preg..b4 preg was 55kg.. nw left 17kg to shed off..

b4 preggy got tummy liao... so no diff when back to pre-preggy weight....

^5 Mama Jan, me gain 10kg too! My weight on the day i deliver my girl was 51kg. =D then after giving birth drop immediately to 46kg!
