I took ensure milk blended with oats every morning. It gives me energy and prevents constipation. I tried similac mum and find it too sweet.
Yeah, I learnt a lot too! Thanks Mummies...
Tealeaf : Does Enfamama taste good?
Brenbelle, it tastes like milk powder. My friend suggested that I got the chocolate flavor because she could not stand the vanilla flavor. First glass I almost threw up. After finishing the first tin, I am used to the taste.
Thanks tealeaf for the info.
I did not take any milk as I'm lactose intolerant, but took soya bean milk instead. Mummies who have morning sickness may want to drinking milk in the early months as it can make the queasiness feel worse.
Currently im drinking NAN mum & me. I like the Taste and it is not so sweet. Now they have free sample, they are giving you a box to try (very good deal) Start your motherhood journey with NANŽ MOM & me daily!
Do not try S26, i regretted buying it, the taste is filled with fish oil smell, almost want to vomit when i smell it. Wasted a can!
I didn't take any formula milk. Checked with my gynae during my first tri; she just casually said ok to take but her expression told me that it is not absolutely. And I am already taking the vitamins she prescribed so I didn't bother. I did read from other forums that if you drink too much, it might increase risk of gestational diabetes (But I am not sure either, cos no expert here!) Am taking low fat HL milk now though...
I have switched from Friso mum to Similac mum. I have a really hard time dissolving Similac Mum milk powder with warm water and it always gets lumpy when I mix it with warm water. But when mixed with room temperature water, it can dissolve quite well except that it's not warm milk anymore. Any mummies know the remedy of mixing milk powder well?
Am taking Anmum too , if you are afraid of the taste of milk or if you hardly drink milk). You can try adding in the instant oats with the milk powder and drink it everyday, the oats will cover the milk taste totally. And you are just like drinking the oats. That's what am trying now in my 1st trimester.. cos am afraid of the milkl taste.
i heard some of them saying the vanilla is better than choco as choco is kinda heaty.
I dont dare to take formula milk. My teacher took the annmum during pregnancy and she develop lactose intolerance after giving birth. I love drinking milk so dont want to risk it.
I taking goat milk instead. Low fat and more nutritious than cow milk.
When I first started out, I vomit when I smell the milk. It took me few tries to gloat it down my throat and I feel disgusted and gross. my mum keep forcing me to drink big glass at one go.
Surprisingly, after awhile, I no longer smell the goat smell. totally immuned. It taste fantastic to go with my multigrain bread every morning.
It is better than cow milk which sometime I worry about putting on weight after drinking. My mum's skin glow and rosy probably due to goat milk.
I was taking Annum Materna too until my gynae said although I merely passed the glucose test, I should still control my sugar/ carbo intake.. so he wants me to stop this and drink HL milk instead.. so now I drink at least 2-3 glasses of HL milk every day..
My first can was Anmum and it tastes great. Not too milky/sweet. I recommend this. I've tried the choc sample pack and is really nice too.
My second one now is Similac which I really dislike. It tastes very weird and somehow has an iron taste. But no choice, have to finish it... I think Anmum is a good choice!
a colleague recommend anmum chocolate to me, but another colleague gave me a brand new tin of similac, leftover from her pregnancy... so i'm taking similac now... i make the milk luke warm and just gulp it down, no issue with the taste so far.
