ladies, off topic abit...
how much extra did you all pay for anaesthesiologist fee? i was told its not included in maternity package. pls advise.
Well, dont have to care what pple say about C-sect. As long as both mother n baby fine. We cant stop what others is thinking or wants to say . Jiayou oo..
I aso C-sec, cos no pain no contration after 2 inducing... my parents, my in law never say anything at all... When I go for my normal check up, my in law ask me why have not come out yet...Carry him out (C-sec)... Can't wait ...wahaha...
By the way, C-sec benefits the baby, as when natural birth, if the baby is difficult to come out, the gynae may use some force to pull out the baby, he may fracture the arms, cord may aso tie round the baby neck and aso the baby may lack of oxygen and may end up emergency c-section, peoples mouth want to say is their business, dont mind so much...We just want our baby to be safe..
just a thot: interesting that somebody mentioned that natural birth w/o drugs is a trend, coz it's been around far longer than c-section. in fact, c-section is the trend, around for maybe the past 20 yrs only.
ochklk: i disagree that c-sec benefits all babies tho. i think there are more babies that come out fine naturally than those cases you mentioned. it's simply a medical necessity in those cases.
there are many reasons why people prefer natural birth:
1. smaller wound - faster healing so can get on to biz of looking after baby more easily
2. less risk of transferance of drug to baby - esp GA
3. baby born naturally usually can go to mommy and breastfeed earlier and better (??)
reasons why ppl prefer c-sect:
1. dont't want labour pains
2. worry about being loose after childbirth
3. choose 'lucky' time for birth
personally, i had an emergency c-section after trying for 10hrs. yes, it's painful, but won't kill you. c-sect was so easy by comparison, tho it's no joke trying to look after baby while recovering from surgery. but again it won't kill you. so for my next one, should it be natural or c-sec? i dont know :P
both sides have it's views, and i guess it's a matter of what is impt to you. and after you decide, dont't get pek cek about what other people say anymore. must be in good mood for baby
hi, i have gone through 2 c-sections (first one emergency) and if you ask me, I would still prefer natural birth if i have a choice. I must admit that sex life has been great even after the babies cos psychologically, you feel that you are left intact with c-section. However, my recovery after c-section esp after the 2nd one has been fraught with scares. There are a lot of post op complications that you need to be aware of for c-section. dont take it for granted, do speak to yr gynae to fully understand the risks as it is cdred a major abdominal surgery. I have been reading a lot and asked gynae to let me try VBAC ie. vaginal birth after c-section but it would be difficult as my cervix did not dilate at all for the first one.
