Pls pm me if those who know how much the package charges is like for the docs below. THANKS! also Need to understand on each Gynae's specialist on C-section or Natural.
1) Dr Lawrence Ang, Thomson Medical Center / Sunplaza
2) Dr Adelina Wong, Thomson Medical Center
3) Dr Jeanette Chen, Thomson Medical Center
4) Dr Ang Huaiyan, Mount Alvernia , Gleneagles
same as Hueychye, my gynae is also Dr LN Sim. i had c-sect and her sewing for c-sect is very good too. a very motherly and polite gynae. very assuring. you may want to consider her too? =)
My gynae is Dr Adelina Wong. I had my first natural delivery with her. Now I am seeing her again for my twins.
For Dr Wong, she will usually encourage you to go for natural birth first, if circumstances allow. She is also very sweet and friendly, always making sure that our concerns are heard and give us advice. The staff at her clinic are also very friendly. But you will need to be prepared to wait, especially on mornings when it is more busy.
I signed up for package at 16 weeks in late 2008. It was $628 before GST then, but I think she may have raised the price. This time round I am unable to use the package as I'm expecting twins. Her package includes, 1 urine dip stick, consultation, and a scan + scan printout. Does not include vitamins, tests and CTG scans.
Actually i got one gynae to intro... he is going to have his own clinic in Thomson Medical Center soon... start on mid may... his name is Benjamin Tham... he delivered for me in Kandang Kerbau Hospital.. but moving there soon as he say that Kandang Kerbau Hospital is getting more ex ... so you can try.. he is a very nice & experice doc...
Initially my hubby also feel she is expensive, but now he is the one who encourage me to go back to her for my 2nd pregnancy.
Package can start at 12 weeks until give birth cost $700 but not sure is it the price increase. (This is last year price)
The package is urine test, ultrasound & consultancy fees not include medicine and multi-vit.
If you want contact, just PM me..
I just deliver my baby 3 months ago and my Gynae is Dr Sim LN and i can have only good things to say about her .
She is VERY good and nice . Patient as well .
She is very pro to natural birth . Keep asking me to try natural and not C-sect till the last moment . Even the nurses at the delivery room say she is good -Want her patients to go natural and not C-Sect .
Some Gynae i heard ask patients to go C-Sect is because they can plan their schedule which i felt is not right .
After my delivery , I went back to see her for my Pap-Smear and she is very concern about my health and my baby . Asking questions who is taking care of the baby etc and her health etc ...
Another one thing good about Dr Sim is that she will not waste patient money in unneccessary tests.
Some gynae ask patients to do this test , do that test to earn $$$$ . But Dr Sim is the type when she feel that you need it then she will ask you to do .
If i am expecting another baby , i will certainly go back to her but well i decide to stop at one . hahahaha.
my cousin's gynae was Dr sim lai ngor too. apparently she is very good and skilled. personally, my gynae is DR Koh Gim Hwee, I am super comfortable with him bcos he is very very polite, gentle, genuine, soft spoken, experienced, professional! i delivered in Raffles it was exceptional!
I had a not so good experience with Thomson Medical during my 1st visit for my pregnancy check-up with Dr WK Tan.
My gynae was Dr Roger lucky (clinic is on Sims Ave) and his hospital is East Shore. He is a good gynae and very patient
hey ....I am planning for another baby ...wanted to switch Gynea....but do not know who is suitable yet....
My pregnancy is not smooth one....esp for the first 3-4 months. Very bad morning sickness and also have thyoid issues ....
So looking for a sutiable one that can cater and more cautious one....
I went to Lawrence Ang before...he is good but not suitable for me....
I have my miscarriage when I went to him....
Dr Adelina Wong, Thomson Medical Center expericence in difficult pregnancy?
and yeah, i seek for her advice on whether i should go for OSCAR test and she told me is up to me but she said for my age, i can skip to test unless i have spare cash. when i was trying to concieve, she even asked me to go pharmacy and get my folic acid cos she said her clinic charges higher for folic acid compareed with pharmacy. and when i conceived with dear son, she will asked me if i still hav folic acid at hm, if have, dont have to buy from her.. haha!
1) He does not operate a full clinic at Thomson Medical Center. His consultation over at Thomson Medical Center is usually rush and fast because he has to rush back to his own clinic at Sembawang which is kilometers away. If you are late, you will miss your appointment because he is usually out of sight by 9am. This explain why there is long queue in Sembawang clinic.
2) He talks fast and lack of patience. You will feel just like being treated like a product running through a conveyer belt in a factory. His delivery charges is cheap because he tries to deliver as much babies as possible.
3) If you are in labour in a weekday morning and check into delivery ward, chances are you have to wait until he drives all the way from sembawang to Thomson Medical Center. You have to cross your fingers that there is no traffic jam or is not moring peak traffic along the way.
4) Lastly, as for his stiching skill, most mothers who has her first child not delivered by him would agree that his skill is not fantastic nor excellent.
Once there is a gyne told me the money you paid is worth the skill you get. I totally agree with him. Nowadays, most parents have on average two kids, why we want to get such gyne and being treated like a product? If time could go back, I would never select him as my gyne. There is a lot more better gyne than him in Mt Avernia and Glenegles. BTW, he charges $1,400 to $2,000 for normal delivery (as of June 2010).
Dr Lawrence Ang, my fav gynae. Thumbs up.... will confirm go back to him when i have my no 2.
My gynae is Dr Chandra from Parkway East (formerly known as East Shore Hospital). I find him very gentle and soothing, and very encouraging.
You may like to look for him if you are looking for a gynae in Parkway East, or stay in the East. He has two clinics - one in Aljunied and the other one in Parkway East itself.
PM me if you wish to know his contact no.

I had both pregnancies under the care of Dr Adelina Wong. To be fair, I would like to describe my experiences.
My 1st pregnancy I had a baby girl whom I carried to term. We requested to be induced 1 day before my EDD so that baby girl could share the same birthday as her daddy. She was reluctant, telling us that for 1st pregnancies sometimes baby will be past due date & that she will usually only induce 3 days after EDD. Plus I was merely 1cm dilated. So from her point of view she did not recommend it but we were free to go for it if we really wanted to try for induction. She also informed me that if induction didn't go well there is a chance of C-section.
Checked-in at 1am to get the pill inserted, water bag burst at 9am. She dropped by around noon to check on my dilation and informed me that she will be back at around 6pm as that is the time she expects that I will be fully dilated. But baby was ready to come out at around 2pm. Was pushed to the delivery room to wait for her and she came. Delivered my baby girl smoothly at 39weeks 6 days.
2nd pregnancy was a twin pregnancy. Quite straightforward. Baby boy, my first twin was breech so there was no way I could attempt normal delivery. Scheduled for C-section. Smooth one and she came by on all 3 mornings I was at the hospital to check on me.
