Re: Dr Irene Chua - TPS

hihi^^
i'm under Dr Irene Chua from TPS. She's very nice and patient lady.
Heard from other mommies from this forum that she's good at delivering and stitching skills are not bad. They would even go back to her for their second baby.
She will answer n clear any doubts you have even if it is a long list of questions, she wouldnt mind.

gee..thanks.. having a prince. what about you? how many weeks/mths r you now? dr. irene is very nice. before pregnancy i've got some abnormal bleeding after menses for about a month.. so i went to Kandang Kerbau Hospital and was by random put to dr. irene. she's so nice n always clear my doubts so i decided to stay through with her since she know my history and is a nice gynae. i didnt know there's a TPS @ AMK so cant comment. is it under Kandang Kerbau Hospital too?

the waiting time for TPS @ Kandang Kerbau Hospital is pretty short. they will bring you the nourishments (medication) so you do not need to go to the Kandang Kerbau Hospital pharmacy n q till you drop. payment wise have to wait ... but if you want to cut time you can sign up with their scheme, pay maybe $400 first. then they deduct from the $400 every visit. forgotten what's that called.

i've been through the same tests ... not that bad . just dont look at the needle when they r drawing the blood . until now still pain? wah... yr skin must be very thin.. kekeke. (joking onli)
i think i should be doing the glucose test on my next appt... wonder how it will be like. heard have to drink a lot of sweet drinks provided by the hospital.. i hope i pass the test. kekeke. my next appt is on the 24th March. my prince will be 7mths big by then. wonder how heavy he is by then. Dr. Irene Chua estimated my prince weight during the last appt to be of approx. 700gram which is normal.

I already did not look at the needle . Not sure if my skin is very thin. However I do know that my veins are very fine. When I went in to do the blood test, I warned the nurse that I am very scared of needles. And that I have very fine veins. So she was saying there are two methods that she can try to take the blood from. 1st is from the area above the elbow. The 2nd position is above the palm area. I heard that the 2nd position is more painful, so i told her that i will only want to try the 1st position. In the end she used all her methods to draw my blood . Including tying my arm with 2 rubber band (normal people only need 1 band), then she hit, she fan....she do everything . finally managed to draw my blood. Hence she is quite experience, she manage to draw 3 tubes of blood in one try. In the past when I did blood test, the nurse got to poke me many times as my blood does not flow out. Hengz.

Will b seeing dr irene end of this month. hopefully by then she will not tell me that i am still fat. haha.

err...so waht is the objective of flooding us with syrup? is there anything that we need to take out so that it can minimise any fluke results

btw for the test, is it ex? any other tests that are conducted prior to this?

yr food dont have to be bland my dear. eat as per normal just minimize the sugar intake can .

take less frequently of those high sugar content stuffs like sweets, chocolates, canned or bottled drinks. taking more plain water is always the best.

i eat normally. i like to drink milo so when i make milo i make sure that its not too sweet. occassionally i take a few sips of coke. i still drink canned drinks but only max. 1 can. n i drink a lot of plain water. chocolates i still eat but i'll limit myself. like not more then 3 pcs. once in a blue moon i still eat ice-cream. i do eat sweets too but i'll limit the consumption.

so dont worry.

hi all, i am under dr irene chua too. just wanted to share my experience so far. saw her before i got married for the pre marriage checkup package and was very comfortable with her. she's the friendly sort who IMHO makes me feel like i am not just one of her many patients.

recently i went back to her after finding out i am preggie and she has again given me the very reassuring feeling and i believe i am in good hands. also i feel that she is a very positive dr who tries to really emphatise with patients concerns.

hope this little contribution helps any mtbs to feel reassured. seing her again next week. and i am looking forward to it.
