Hi, do anybody have any idea or experienced bout this doc?
Hmm, seems like no mummies here ever engaged her svc
Hi, I did engage Dr Yong Tze Tein (singapore general hospital) before and it is a bad experience.
She was intro to me by my Thyroid specialist in singapore general hospital.
So, we proceed and engaged her on my 6weeks of pregnancy.
Everything is fine, and that time in year 2007, she has just been promoted to Senior Consultant.
By my 8weeks into pregnancy, i experience bright red spotting for 3days.
Being a 1st time mum, i am very worried and i called her up on the 3rd day morning. And I will remember the appt with her my entire life. It is a lesson to learn.
Our conversation in my phone call to her.....
me : Dr yong, I am spotting with bright red blood for 3days change 3 pcs of pantyliners each day due to the spotting.
Yong : Oh ok, if you are worried, I will arrange to see you tomorrow morning.
me : that will be great! thank you so much Dr Yong.
All are well for the conversation. Very comforting.
Next day proceed to singapore general hospital with hubby.
I am her 1st patient of the day.
My Q no. flashed and we went in.
I explained what I am experiencing, bright red spotting for 3days.
She suggested to arrange for a scan and get the result back to her.
So, I went for scan and passed her the results.
I will remember the conversation for life.
She analysis at the report and she say "your baby is 80% fine, no problem, healthy, which the report says."
So, I asked her "is there anything I can do for the 20%?"
She replied saying "No, nothing, and you may go home now. ok. and that's all."
I am still worried as I know from some of my girl friends who had had brownish spotting, their gynae will gave them a support jab and request them to stay in bed with MC to monitor the situation and to stabilize baby.
So, i asked her again "really nothing can be done?"
Her answer : "Yes, nothing, nothing can be done. ok, you may go now."
I asked again as I am worried as it's my 1st pregnancy "There is nothing you can do to help me?"
She laughed and replied : "Yes, nothing. What do you want? If you go home now and gave me a call after that to tell me you had your menses and your baby is gone, there is nothing I can do!" she laughed again.
I was shocked and angry with her reply and my hubby nearly yelled at her. And i tab my hubby and tell him that let me handle.
I reply her saying “Since, I am still here, can’t you just do something to stabilize my fetus?”
She become sarcastic : “Oh really, there is really nothing I can do to help you, like I say, if you call me later and say your baby is gone, there is really nothing I can do!”
I got pissed and say “you mean there is nothing that a doctor can prescribe for me to stabilize my fetus?”
She reply : “Oh, so you wanted support, you can just tell me so.” And she laughed.
I am fuming and say “Ain’t you in the right person in the right position to prescribe and advise us as a gynae????”
She says “okok, since you want support, I give you support . But, the pill is expensive, and I will prescribe you 30days supply. Are you able to pay for the pill, it is expensive you know?”
My reply : “Nothing is more important than my baby.”
We argued for half an hour....... Then, finally both are sick of the arguement......
She shook her head while writing the prescription………………
I stomp off with hubby to get the prescription from pharmacy…..
For 30days supply of 60 pills, only cost me S$90………….
I engaged Dr Yong that as private and her consultation with scan already cost S$100+ per visit!
What’s $90 to me…… A life in me, even if it’s a thousand bucks I will still try my best to protect it.
I didn’t carry on her service. I opt for private gyane instead……… And all are well, I have a bubbly and joyous baby girl.
Hope readers are not bored by my long writings…………..
Just informing of my experience with Yong Tze Tein.

Clingbel, you made the wise choice to see a pte gynae... i believe you will feel much assure.
If I remember correctly, Dr Yong was an assigned gynae to me when my previous gynae actually left for some overseas studies... He is a male indian doctor and he is actually very nice and good.
As I had some medical history and do had problems in conceiving, I was pretty worried after a year of trying. My last visit to her was in Yr 2006. I asked her what she can she do for me when I still not able to conceive. Should I go for any tests, blah blah blah...
I still remember she told me "dont't worried... I have patient who got pregnant when she is 40 years old"
Halo.... I was 30 yrs old that time.... I dont't think I need to wait until 40 yrs old...
After that visit, I told my hubby I am really not comfortable to with that woman... So i decided to swtich to a Private Gynae. At least they let me know what is my problems, and give me my suggestiion to help me to conceive which I never tried. Becos by then, I was so fortunate that I conceive on my own.
I am still with my current gyne, Dr LC Cheng and pretty comfortable with me. Especially, I nearly miscarriaged and he was pretty careful with me.
Ya Jan, i had never regretted switching to private gynae......
She is just horrible, imagine the words she say are soooooooo....................
Well, nothing beats a gynae who can really take care of both mother & child.
My gynae is Dr Fong Yong. And, when I 1st saw him and show him what Yong gave me for supplement...... He said that I am under supplied...........
My husband & I are soooo relieved after switching and knowing myself & baby are in good hands.
