I need a friendly, patient n professional female gynae who can do good stitching job and skilful in doing painless papsmear. Appreciate yr feedback, thks!
I have a friend who had 4 of her children delivered by Dr Tan Wee Khin at Thomson Medical over a period of 10+ years. She has many good reviews about her. Very experienced and elderly. Her contact details are given below.
I have not seen her personally. But I called her recently to ask her about my postpartum complications. I needed a second opinion. She was very kind and answered my phone call eventhough it was my first time calling her. I was just a stranger to her and called her out of the blue yet she talked to me over the phone and advised me for about 10 mins or so. No charge of course. She sounded very motherly and patient and asked if I was all right from my complications. I heard she may be retiring soon though.

I need one who can do good stitching in case I need to go for minor surgeries in future.. n also because I had painful papsmear done before by a GP. She was "slow" in pulling out the equipment, n that caused much pain in me that I couldn't even dare to breathe n even thought that I had bleeding..it was a terrible experience!
Pap smears should not be painful, but maybe a little uncomfortable for some. It is a very basic swab test. I had mine done recently by Dr TB Lim and didn't realised that it was already done when it was completed. Very quick and efficient. I think I could have done it myself too!
As for stitching, I dont't have much comments. But one of my friends went to Dr Chua Tsei Meng at NUH for her labour -- it was horrible. She had terrible tears during labour and her stitching was bad too.
Thks for yr recommendation. Yes, I do heard of this Dr WK Tan but not aware that she is going to retire soon. Its a pity as I prefer a motherly n patient gynae who is also very professional. My friend's sis was with her for her 2 kids after her bad experience at Mt E ( the gynae who I told you earlier= same as mine).
Btw, she is indeed very kind enough to spare her time to talk to you via phone about yr case despite that you are not her patient. Hope you have learnt somethg valuable from her! Most of the private gynae or Dr are "moneygrubber", its hard to find one who really goes to the extent of explaining issues with patients privately..
Hope you have improved in yr insomnia n lead a much more cheerful life!!
Omg! NUH Dr again! Better remember their names n take note of those who have poor stitching skills in case they set up private practice in future since NUH has the most complaints.
We won't want to be the next victim too! N do remember all Dr go thru NUH for training.. so not all are good..if they set up private practice in any other hospitals.
Stitching is very impt, or else it will affect the recovery rate n the scar will be very ugly too!
I'm aware that you are looking for a female gynae, but you may wish to consider a male gynae whom I seen this August in regards of my pregancy and as well as doing a pap smear test. It was recommend by one of my mum's friend and his skil is remarkabe i can say, unlike some female gynae whom I've seen before, rough in doing certain procedure. He also has a staff nurse staying in for the whole precedure as well as the consultation. You may wish to consider Tel: 62585530 , located at Toa payoh central
For the pap smear it will be a lil discomfort but not painful. He's gentle and preofessional in doing procedure and will minimise any pain
yes, its not even painful at all, Dr James Lee located at Block 177 toa payoh central #01-138. They have friendly staff to welcome your phone call and answer your enquiry unlike others. althought he is a male but he is gentle and its not awkward at all as the staff nurse they will comfort you.!
Hi, i recently went to see Dr. James and he is a really good gyne! He was so patient and explained things clearly...unlike the other gyne i saw before, he was very gently. I have now brought my mum to see him as i heard he is good at aurgery and repairing the vagina as her womb is sagging and has leaking problems - he was also very knowledge in that area and i will definitely choose him to op on my mum as his cost is not high also. I would strongly recommend dr. james if you want a responsible and great doc.
Hi, thks for yr recommendations for this male gynae but I prefer a female gynae instead.
My gynae is Dr Mary Yang in Glen E. She did my c-section and pap smear. Stitches are good. And pap smear is not painful. She's a bit to the point when talking, tho.
Dr Lisa Chin from Glen E. Her stitching is legendary. Really. She has done my ectopic pregnancy stitching so well, and the surgery so well that my tube was almost normal (from an Xray done later in the year). Her stitching for my delivery was so well done, healed well, etc, that I experienced no pain or soreness after a few days of delivery! Her pap smear is also very good - quick and not painful.
She's also 'to the point', though. dont't expect a coddly doctor with very patient bedside manners.
Just to bring to everyone's notice:
We have received a legal letter from Dr Ang Huai Yan to remove this post. While we evaluate the legalties of our case, we have been advised by our lawyers to remove this posting until further notice.
I want to remind Dr Ang Huai about Streisand Effect. You can threaten us to keep quiet but rest assured, the truth will come out in the open.
