Heaty due to confinement food

Any mummies come across having swollen throat or sore throat due to eating confinement food? Heard confinement food are heaty. Could it be the reason why Im having slight swollen at my throat area?

Confinement food are heaty, that should not be the reason that you suffer from sore throat. Our body is very weak, we should be able to stand the heaty stuffs. The most i experience is constipation, I ate alot of veg and apples to smooth my bowel.
Try using less old ginger in your food.

Yes confinement food are very heaty especially with lots of ginger, seasme oil.. I had sore throat and headache on the fifth day of my confinement. So my mum cut down on the amount of ginger and the ingredients for the longan water. My cousin she couldnt take confinement food at all as she will have bleeding nose coz her body cant take heaty stuffs. Do take care ya =D

confinement food can be heaty. so try not to take massive amount at one shot.

best to drink more water. or fruitylite. which is said to help relieve the heatiness.

or take in more fruits.

Thanks to mummies who replied.. I have pretty smooth bowel. Once or twice a day. Will ask my CL to cut down on ginger.. =) I tried to cut down on longan red tea. Drinking water should be fine, yes?? Heard we cant drink water during confinement??

Hey dont't drink water and cold one. Will cause water retention and as for cold drinks... better wait till after 4 months as it will cause body aches... Drink longan water still the best. I regret not listening to my mum's nagging, now still having water retention and that time after my confinement, had really bad body aches almost everyday =(

Whats the effect of water retention? Means Body looks bloated? I drink water only at night.. Day time, Milo and Longan water. Or I should drink red longan tea throughout?? Not even a sip of water?

Yes bloated/swollen. Dont drink at all babe, drink logan water throughout your confinement. It's good for you.

but i think every person body's difference.. for my case my body is the heaty based can't really take heaty food.. during confinement i never drink a single sip of red logan water as the confinement food itself is causing me having constipation thru out the whole month.. i only drink plain water and lots of them.. but i dont have any sign of water retention.. do what you thik suit your body best..

i agree. different bodies have different types of tolerance. some are able to take in confinement food while others may not.

tonics can be quite heaty also. especially if you're taking in chinese medicine during the period. i only drink the waist tonic during my confinement period. too much tonics and my body wont be able to take it.

drink more logan tea dear. it's good. try not to drink too much water. water retention can be a problem. and it would last for awhile.

after the confinement period, you can drink what you want.well almost anything. so please bear with it till its over!

Yeah i have fever twice already , doc say because too heaty so i tried to take sips of water & cut down the ingredients in the red dates longan Most probably cannot take too much heaty food ..

hahaha!! I really had red longan tea whole of yesterday. not a sip of plain water. CL put alot of ingredients in my red longan tea and she made me drink them all!! Lolx!

i rmb i drink the red dates longan drinks until i have sore throat n eventually lead to bad cough~ i stop drinking when i am only half way thru my confinement as those drinks are way too heaty for me

Fish is ok but not prawns, cockles, crabs...etc. Reason being that our womb is still not totally recover yet. My mum said it will cause yellowish discharge with foul smell...

4 months later? Im craving for Salmon Sashimi like......... 9month plus? Since I got preg!! Soft drinks, still can da han.

Verona's mummy, mum said crab meat not allowed. =x Its still consider seafood. We can onli eat certain fish during our confinement. The fish to make crabmeat, I dont think its a kinda goooood fish that we can consume during confinement.
