my replies are in red.Hi all mummies its gona b a long post with my questions on fever includedd as well so pls bear w me n share w me as much as you can rgding your experiences thk you so much...........just find that i,m such a lousy mum @ times............. the reason y i say so is cse ytd pm when i was hugging my 10mths old baby gal i realised tthat she was feeling warm so i told my hubby about it n he w/o feeling my gal said that it was ok. i mean after the whole epsidoe o what happend after that i blamed myself that i shld trust my instinct n b persisent that something is indeed wrong w my gal. you c i took a short nap ( i was tired frm work ) n after o woke up mu hubby told me that my gal was having fever n he has given medication to her. i was pretty upset @ him not trusting what i told him earlier on. my hubby for your info is those defensive type who always think that he is right n will find excuses to cover up for his misjudgement ......i always kept quiet in order to avoid conflict but this time i shld insist my way but i kept queit again thats y i ,m felt so lousy n sad for my gal......................aniway we just monitor her throughtout the late eveing n her fever came on n off n e highest tempt hit was 38.2 we give her medicine immed when her tempt was 37.6. honestly speaking i was @ aloss o what to do except to sponge her. a lot o question went thro my mind. was it teething ????? shld i bring her to doct or wait?????? her fever is not fm an after injection so????? my tots were gg haywire but e fact that she was still active deter me frm gg to e hospital due its sat evening. to cut my post short we went A n E Mt A @ 5am sun am cse her fever still did not subside but hovering around 38 deg. heres my questions.
dont feel lousy.. every baby falls ill.. next time, just trust your mother instinct. if your hub dont trust you, is okay, take your girl's temp and you will know who is right/wrong. there was once, dear son' body suddenly turn very warm and i called up my hubby, he said hw come will suddenly fever? might be i too over-react. but i took dear son' temp and called him back, 37.9! and that very night, the fever shoot up to 39.7 and also, we dashed him to the hospital. from that incident onwards, my hubby lalways trust my judgement and mother instinct.
1) m i a damn lousy mum what wld you do in such circumstances?????
at many times, dear son fall ill and many ppl around me feel that i over-panic. but at times, i trust my own judgement and brought dear son to pediatrician, true enough, he is really ill, or need stronger medi to fight the virus. trust your own judgement, ppl can only give you advices but cannot control what you should do. cos they are not with your baby all the time, they dont know what's the situation like.
2) doc told me she had gastric flu when i told him her symptons apart fm fever are frequent poo n yellowish colour which i myself suspected is diarhoea but teething also comes with fever n watery poo rite?????? aniway doc told me is gastric flu mayb caused by virus attack which was air borned.
Fever does NOT cause fever! that time dear son got high fever we also thought he was teething but his pediatrician told us teething does not cause fever. if really will cause fever then all the pediatrician and GP will prepare paracetamol for all the teething babies to standby, just like after taking those jabs which will cause fever. =)
her fever might be caused by gastric flu like what the doc said.
3) doc also told me to change to soy milk but she has been on friso since NB( she is 10mths now ) shld i just buy a tin o soy milk to try????? or??????????
for this, i cant comment much. depends on whether you trust your doc or not. but since the doc suggested soy milk for your gastric flu girl, you might want to try for a short period until she fully recovers.
Dear all kindly pls advise esp if you also hve such experiences with your bbs with heartfeltthks to you..........
just my 2 cents worth =)
