Any babies here using Pigeon bottle?

hi mummies, yesterday i just bought 2 pigeon wide-neck bottles for my boy to use at my mother in law house. 1bottle for milk, 1bottle for water.

Im abit confused by the nipple teat, i bought L nipple teat for my boy to use but my mother in law said he drink water will choke but drink milk is ok.

then if he wants to drink thicker liquids cannot use bottle? must hand-feed?

dear, your mother in law is right.

Water and milk cannot use the same size of teats else babies will tends to get 'choke' as water is 'smooth' while milk is thicker hence, cannot use same size.

You can actually self test the teats yrself with the water and milk (which I done so to convince myself that time). You will notice that the water will flow out quickly while the milk is just dripping out.

What I did (until now) is: Milk - M size teats, Water - S size teats.

If you know, there's also 'Y' size of teats, that is either for teats beyong M size or, to feed juices.. or some mummies add cereal into the milk (which is not recommended by pediatrician) will use 'Y' teats.

Re: Any babies here using Pigeon bottle?

babe,if keith is not fussy about bottles, mayb you can buy another brand of milk bottle for him for water? or might as well buy him a training cup?

last time before my pediatrician told me totally cannot give water to babies below 6mths, i actually prepared a nuk bottle for him to drink water while avent for milk.

Re: Any babies here using Pigeon bottle?

pkshl,

i am also using the wide neck bottles with M teats (baby about 5.5mths). If you see carefully the teat should have a letter 'S' or 'M' marked on it. I am using another different bottle to feed her water (smaller teat so I am also using M for it)
