hi, actually its good to give some water after milk or a meal... as water will help to clean our system... but as babies drink milk, just give a small amount of water will do...
i worry hard to wean ... i scared later engorgement...
not really.. there are some who suddenly stop one..
wah, i hope dear daughter will give me warning signs!
got use ? engorge then eat?
When my boy decided to stop latching, I just continued to pump to give EBM. Then because he did not latch, supply will slowly drop. Alternative is you only pump when you feel like it's going to be engorged. & pump just enough to feel 'relief'.
yeah, cold cabbage leaves in freezer helps with the pain from engorgment. i used the leaves last time when got engorgement.
the leaves must be big enuf for breasts, and must leave the nipple uncovered. but , at the end of the day will smell like cooked cabbages!!!
oh not to eat ? lol. i see.. hmm.. must be cabbage? those cold pack cannot?
stonston, when did your boy start to wean himself off latching?
that time pin also refused to be latched on. the engorgement was so pain!!
but then, day by day it gets better, n eventually supply stopped.
took about a week i think.
well, if baby is weaned off, then milk supply will eventually stop.
no demand, no supply.
but dont think baby will suddenly stop right? will they suddenly not want to drink milk at all???
or alternatively, if you worry your baby might suddenly stop, you can try to wean them off yourself. just feed them the EBM by milk bottle.
pin also suddenly wanna wean?
i read before that some babies will suddenly dont want to latch on anymore..hope my girl is not like this but im trying to decrease the number of milk feeds per day now for her. slowly reduce n wean her eventually after 6mths or so...
