Anyone out there using BFree or BFree Plus teats and bottles?
My boy has been using the Stage 1 (slow flow) teat and wide-necked bottle t since we started partial bottlefeeding with EBM when he was 3.5 mths old. Initially, there were just a few times when the teat will sink in or collapse as he was sucking. We thought it was because he was used to having suck hard to initiate the let-down reflex during breastfeeding, that was why he also sucked very hard when he changed to the bottle, and this caused the teat tip to collapse.
In recent weeks, now that he's nearly six months old, my mum who takes care of him in the day tells me that the teat collapses often when my boy sucks it. Anyone knows why this is happening? Is it manufacture flaw or natural wear because we have used it for too many months? But actually it's only been two months since we started using it. Or could it because my boy is now older and want a faster flow, but the Stage 1 teat is for slow flow and so he sucks very hard to try to get a faster flow, thus causing the teat to collapse? In this case, should I progress to the Stage 2 teat for my boy?
Is the variable flow teat better than the staged teat?
