my baby is 5 weeks old and since last week i noticed alot of dried yellowish skin on the forehead, eyebrows and eyelids area. recently there r some on the head too. Apparently it is cradle cap according to my research. any mummies experience it before? any effective ways to clear the affected areas? thanks!
oh.. use johnsons baby oil can? how about those on the forehead?
will the cradle cap re-appear once you clear them? thanks!
My son also had cradle cap on the head, we put olive oil on his head the night before and the next morning we shower him and shampoo his hair after which, we just use a brush to brush it off, it will come off slowly....
It will not come back again...........
but i ddink it does hurt a little on the baby coz they will squirm and get cranky
i rubbed on and off for a week before it finally clears away
if you getting other oils remember to get those that will not have burning sensation on skins....olive oil or pigeon baby oil are both fine.
My son had mild cradle cap, i used organic olive oil for him cos he was less than a week old, dont wanna use anything that'll expose him to chemicals
According to the nurse who conducted my antenatal class, use organic olive oil to massage the scalp gently. It will go away. You can get organic olive oil from pharmacies.
my dear daughter's cradle cap was quite bad and olive oil didn't really work.
she scratched her scalp till raw. now have to put mittens on her and use cradle cap shampoo.
oh thx gals.. will try it later.
but how about those on the forehead n eyebrows? can rub with oil too?
you can either use baby oil like what other mummies had used, or alternatively you can use dentinox..
its a shampoo for baby to remove cradle cap.
My son had very bad cradle cap too n friends recommended that we use dentinox.. It does work well..
After a few shampoo wash of dentinox n massaging baby oil on the scalp, the cradle cap was gone.
